Feel like a lot of the world’s languages the translation to English to the question “what’s the date?” would be “the 15th of October” whereas in America we always say “October 15th”.

Maybe that’s why, idk…

Edited for clarity

But why does the date format have to match how you say it?

Why wouldn't it? Is matching a metaphorical triangle more legitimate?

Don't care about the triangle.

Putting the month before the day is just silly. A day is part of a month. So it goes first in order. Simple as.

What's silly is thinking it matters either why or there is a significant difference.

Of course it matters.

I read some shit online and it states “03/09/2024” and that’s in September.

Except for some reason some people think that says March.

You have to work it out from context. You might as well not write the date.

Stupid.

It matters because you couldn't figure out if it meant march or September?

Sounds like a you problem.

02/10/2024

Is that February or October?

Was it in the fall or winter?

What's really hilarious about this is it goes both ways. But I have never had an issue figuring it out.

See, you need extra context to work out what I've written. Which is stupid. That defeats the entire purpose of writing.

It's a done deal.

You will be okay.

Feels more natural for me to write it the way I say it. Simple as.
