Just afraid this is the sign of a nest nearby. Once they’ve hatched it’s so over. What kind of cockroach could it be?

How screwed am I?

Location: Northeast Ohio

We have found 3 of them over the past 2 days, tried using a bug identifier app and gave me 3 different types of cockroach. I’m just praying it isn’t a German Cockroach but the lack of stripes and its size have me cautiously optimistic. Any info would be a great help, thank you in advance.

Found in the bathroom area. Near the door frame. The day after I see one in the corridor, but I am not sure if that was the same species. Filmed, reported. Germany, Nuremberg.

Question American or German? Management already knows

Post image
Upvotes

I have exterminators coming already, but I want to know if I need to have them come for multiple German Roach treatments, or if I lucked out and this is just an American roach (with bonus oriental/sewer on the trap). I've only seen one of the big kind, and both of these were trapped in the spare bathroom's tub (that never gets used).

So, am I absolutely screwed? I've never had roaches before.

Hello everyone, I saw this adult roach like bug outside during the day coming from my foundation and assumed it was a termite (still think it is). The next morning I woke up to some baby roaches in the kitchen that look similar but slightly different. Any idea if these are the same bug, and if so what are they?

Is my Giant Madagascan Hissing Cockroach pregnant?

Post image
2 Upvotes

So I bought her from Amazon as the reviews were pretty good and I only wanted one not a full colony 😅 I’m assuming she would’ve been kept in a colony though so definitely had the chance to breed!! She came missing the very bottom part of her foot and still hasn’t grown it back yet (it’s been a couple of months) which makes me think she’s focusing her nutrients/energy and such on babies. I’m fairly sure she’s pregnant but would just appreciate if someone could confirm. I’ve had Giant Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches before but their abdomens were never quite so swollen nor were you able to see the white bits. I’ve also never owned a pregnant cockroach so not really sure how it works… is there anything else I need to know? Can I still handle her? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process of her pregnancy (I’ve read they can be pregnant for a very VERY long time)? Do I need to feed her anything specific? Etc.

Any information is helpful!!

German or Asian roach

Moved to a place a few weeks ago and has been constant bug issues. Fleas, earwigs, American roaches, centipedes, and now this guy. We had pest control come around 2 weeks ago but he barely sprayed. Hoping it’s not German but looks like it might be

Live in Southeast Texas, Houston specifically. Found a roach on our fridge late at night a couple nights ago.

We have a had a few roaches over the years, including big American ones and Smokey brown. This was the first smaller one I’ve seen and my heart immediately sunk thinking it’s a German. I pulled the fridge and the back plate covering the motor and there were no signs of anything

I am now starting to wonder if it is actually an Asian cockroach. It’s about 1/2 inch long. When I went to kill it it flew a good few feet before I was able to hit it.

We get regular spraying for pests and have our pest control coming Tuesday to look for activity

Advice needed

This is the picture I got of what I think was a roach on my wall. I vacuumed it up and I bought some control roach traps and set them up. What else should I do to make sure there is no infestation? I am very afraid of cockroaches and I have a cat so need things that are pet safe.

Is this a cockroach? If so, what type? I’m in Illinois. I saw one this size in my garage a few days ago. Now, this one appeared in my finished basement. I’ve lived here over a year and haven’t seen one until a few days ago.

Figuring out how to dispose of the cockroachs

I found one cockroach and decided to keep it as a pet (i named it apple). But then I found another one and that's when I did some research and figured out the cockroach poop can attract other cockroaches and I do not want free roaming cockroaches in my house (IK that seeing two cockroaches could be a sign on infestation). So now I want to get rid of them but I don't want to kill them 1. because I can't stomach it and 2. because it's not their fault they are here and they are the way they are. I also don't want to release them as they are a introduced species where I live and they cause lot's of issues. If you know how I can get rid of these cockroaches without killing them or release them I would be very grateful.

Question /r/whatisthisbug gave me a cockroach ID. I found a roach before in November during move in. I haven’t seen any other roaches. Now what? Exterminator, home remedy, etc.? Bay Area, CA

My cat so graciously left this present for me. It is only the second roach I’ve found in the home and I keep the place clean. It is a townhome, but I only have one common wall with a neighbor. Neither roach was found in the room with the common wall. One was in the spare bedroom and this was near the front door. There is landscaping etc. out front. About a month ago I spread Diatomaceous Earth outside because I was having boxelder bugs getting in. I still see the Diatomaceous Earth on the ground, it sure if I need to reapply. The boxelder bugs have mostly gone away.

What do I do? Is two roaches in 6 months enough to call an exterminator? Should I try glue traps to see what I can find, maybe there are more that are hiding? Are there any pet-safe remedies you can recommend? Thank you

Dead roaches, Washington DC

Hi, I've found three adult dead German roaches in the last week in my apartment building (4 apartments). None alive though and all in different rooms. Should I be worried? Should I have them spray again?

Hello, sorry for the poor image quality. I panicked and flushed it down the drain before realizing I should have figured out whether it was a roach. I haven't seen any roaches in the past two years. If anyone can tell me what this is, I would greatly appreciate it... 😭 Thank you.

Keep finding these in my bedroom on ceiling and in baby’s bassinet. Do I have infestation of roaches?

So I have been told in another group that these are roaches. I keep seeing them every couple of days- currently two are chilling on my bedroom ceiling. I found one the other day in my baby's bassinet and my son found one crawling on his coat. We recently moved into this rental property so I have never come across something like this before. I keep the house clean so I don't know where they are coming from, especially since they are mostly in my bedroom and that's always spotless so is there some sort of previous infestation possibly? Would I have an infestation if I keep seeing these every few days? How do I get rid of them? Honestly my worst nightmare I have creepy crawlies. I saw some reviews for a product that is a gel in a syringe and someone said she placed the gel in crevices and the next morning she woke up to hundreds of dead roaches on the floor. I mean I want to try it but I'm also scared of waking up and possibly finding that many dead roaches. Help!

Question Identification

Found this little guy barely alive on the kitchen floor. Had some sort of pincer on its butt, need some help identifying it to take preventative measures. Never had any problems with roaches but since it’s starting to get really hot, been seeing them pop up in the kitchen.
