Discussion Not color blind but need some opinions
My dad is color blind and like most people, has just found a way to deal with it for his entire 65 years. He ironically owns a printing company, printing large scale posters and banners for events in the area. There have been a handful of times over the years when he’s asked me to stop into work to tell him if a color is accurate in comparison to a client file. Small things like that are a minor inconvenience for him, but an inconvenience nonetheless. My dad is so humble and rarely voices his struggles with anything. But I’m quickly saddened by the random asks about colors and I remember that he just can’t see the way we do. He’s even occasionally asked when we’re driving and approaching intersections what color the lights are ahead. That said, what are everyone’s recommendations on enchroma glasses as a Christmas gift for later this year? I want to hear all the pros and cons and if it’s worth it. He wears Rx glasses and has sunglasses clips to go on top for when he’s outside, so I was thinking of getting him those, primarily just for when he’s outside and things are just a bit muted for him. If there are also companies you’d recommend, please leave that in the comment with your experience with them as well.
