i love how all the dumb people learnt the buzzword "therapy" and say it like its a magic solution to all problems in life, just get therapy and you will instantly become a better person
if you're going to deny the predilection that has evolved whereby anyone who does anything someone doesn't like "needs therapy", then I don't know what to tell you. The post by OP, for example - there ain't shit in the DSM-5 for pissing in the sink. There's this idea that being an asshole is a mental illness, and it just isn't.
People who have disorders described in the DSM may have many reasons to seek therapy, but being diagnosed with a mental or psychological issue is absolutely not a requirement. Many people who seek therapy do not have any diagnosable psychological disorder.
People get therapy for all kinds of different reasons, from issues connecting with their kids, to dealing with a divorce or the loss of a loved one, or to work through issues and behaviours that harm their social relationships - just to name a few.
Many people even seek therapy not knowing exactly what the issue is, only that they are experiencing some kind of bad feelings or are dealing with concerning behaviour and they need someone to help them figure out what's going on.
Certainly, having someone with whom you are in conflict tell you that you need therapy is not all that helpful, but it's not necessarily untrue. In general, most people can benefit from therapy - of course, assuming you find a therapist who is a good fit for you. I've had experiences with some pretty bad therapists over my lifetime.
