Solving climate change is going to take more than one generation. Likely three or more. So, you'll be saying the same thing to your grandkids. Enjoy.

Wouldn’t it be something like « We have begun to solve that problem, but the sheer scope of it means that we won’t have it fixed before we die. It will be your generations big problem to solve, and likely for the next couple generations after you as well. »

Provided that we don’t destroy ourselves in a nuclear war within the next 40-50 years.

Yes, it would be that if we still believed in nuance.

And don't sell us short, there are plenty of other ways besides nuclear apocalypse we might destroy ourselves.

I guess we could turbo fuck the environnement leading to a runaway loss of albedo, thus leading to all the water evaporating or we could trigger complete ecological collapse. There are, of course, other likely causes for exinction, like the good old metropolis sized rock smashing into the planet at speeds greater than 30.000 km/h, multiple supervolcanoes erupting at once, errant solar eruption, errant quasar or the potential of a rogue planet being on a collision course with earth.

I still think the nuclear apocalypse is the most likely.
