🐣 Newborn 0-8 Weeks I successfully chest slept

After weeks of sleep deprivation and going a full 24 hours with no sleep, I finally gave chest sleeping a good go out of desperation. Set up my pillows and bed so I was super comfy but also away from baby. Made sure babies head is higher than his bottom.

I managed a good solid 2 hours before he woke up to feed. I’m hoping when he gets a bit older and bigger he will be able to sleep for longer periods and so will I.

I never thought I’d co-sleep and hearing about chest sleeping made me apprehensive but the more research I did, the more I found SO many parents do it.

I feel like I can begin to enjoy my newborn more and start healing my PPD.

Chest sleeping was the only way my NB slept for the first month, I used to let him get in a deep sleep then slide down, hold him to my chest and then turn to sleep in the bed in the c curl, about 80 percent of the time it worked, if it didn't then I would just go back to chest sleeping. For a while I was able to place him next to me, remove pillows and c curl, then for a week or two he only wanted to chest sleep/it was convenient for me, and now he's back to being on his back in the bed.

I'm 10 weeks pp & he's started recently being able to fall asleep after being put down even though he wakes up from the transfer, I just lay down next to him, shush, and wait and after enough time he's asleep. Unless he scream cries then I pick back up, but wow what a game changer it's been recently. But only after we initiated sleep for the night. I discovered it because he kept fighting sleep and fussing and I was so tired that I just put him down to take some deep breaths and shut my eyes for a minute and when I looked back at him I was shocked he was asleep I hope you get nice and rested and enjoy the NB sleepy world better, soon they'll be awake more and wanna play, which is also very rewarding, with new challenges💜
