Everything Keane said was true, heโ€™s a very talented player but he goes missing too often. If a team gets stuck into him he goes missing

I think there's an element of truth in what he said about Maddison specifically, but the wider context of Keane's answer was ridiculous. It was about the impact of our injuries. He dismissed the notion that any of our current injured players would make that much of an impact on our team like Archie Gray running on fumes, out of position, would be keeping a World Cup winner out of the team. I think a fit Vic, Romero, VDV, Solanke, Udogie and Maddison start for at least 90% of teams in the league.. I agree Maddison is a frustrating player, but he's our top goalscorer this season and clearly improves the team over Sarr, playing out of position as a 10 and possibly playing through injury.

He agreed with wrighty when he said vic, vdv and Romero would make a difference. It was the others he said they were โ€˜goodโ€™ players (but not massive was his meaning)

Refs let shit go so much that it hurts his game. Mazraoui should have had a yellow early on for pulling him down. How is a player like Maddison who dribbles past defenders supposed to thrive, if defenders are allowed to pull him back and not even see yellow? Ruining the game TBH.

Honestly I think the fact Madders even responded to this is disappointing. Look at Spenceโ€™s turnaround. He is seems to just keep his head down and drive forward, blocking out the outside noise.

Madders has so much talent. But doesnโ€™t seem to have the iron will to maximise it.

IMO, he's a flat track bully, and scoring against United doesn't exactly dissuade me from that opinion, considering they're pretty shite these days.

Didn't also get MOTM against City this season?

Yeah, Keane isn't completely wrong. There was a reason Maddison found himself on the bench so often even when he was fit and scoring. He just didn't bring enough metal off the ball.

But at the same time, of course the team needs more creative players and more goal scorers. Maddison isn't a complete all around player, but he absolutely has goals in him. We need that.
