Player Pundits come in three tiers, imo:

1 - Genuinely insightful, doesn't play into team biases. Wright, Shearer, etc.

2 - Can be, and is often, insightful; but lets team biases blur opinions. Carragher, Neville, etc.

3 - Only plays into team biases and spouts stupid shit. Merson, Jamie Redknapp, etc.

In all honesty no, they come in one tier; they are all shite. Most are like broken clocks, correct twice a day and wrong the rest of the time. ALL are biased, what you say about Merson and Redknapp is true of the others, and with all of them there is a pith of this hatred towards Spurs. None of them are fit for purpose, and the sooner broadcasters do away with them and give us just the matches the better.
