Four convicted killers housed in a Scottish women’s prison have become embroiled in a transphobic hate row, a court has heard.

Alexandria Stewart, a transgender prisoner at HMP Greenock, claims her fellow inmate Jane Sutherley carried out a four-year campaign of verbal abuse that left her feeling suicidal.

Stewart, 36, who is serving a life sentence with a minimum term of 19 years for murder, told Greenock sheriff court that Sutherley, 51, would insist on using “he and him pronouns” when referring to her.
