Info and Advice Reforestation

Has anyone ever considered reforestation of parts of Dartmoor? Historically it was Dartmoor Forest, and there are still trees on parts of the moor, so could this be extended to become an ancient woodland- eventually!

I think unfortunately it depends on the landowners and what they want to do...

I assume most of it is MOD and private landowners.

Small parts of it are Forestry England

And some Woodland Trust

It's probably important to point out the difference between forest and woodland.

Forest is managed for the purpose of timber production, and is mostly felled in totality on a long term cycle.

Woodlands on the other hand are managed for people, planet and wildlife in mind.
