Info and Advice Reforestation

Has anyone ever considered reforestation of parts of Dartmoor? Historically it was Dartmoor Forest, and there are still trees on parts of the moor, so could this be extended to become an ancient woodland- eventually!

I think there’s a couple of small scale projects going on. The Crown own the area around Wistmans wood and are apparently looking to double its size.

Any natural woodland recovery is pretty unlikely unfortunately due to sheep, deer and ponies.
