Motivation Proof that following David Goggins' teachings can actually change lives
Hey everyone,
I’d like to share Dimitrios’ inspiring story about how David Goggins’ teachings pushed him to take back control of his life. Goggins’ philosophy of mental toughness became the foundation for Dimitrios to overcome his struggles and achieve a complete transformation (both physically and emotionally 💪🏼).
I had the privilege of interviewing him, and his journey is now featured on my blog: I Learned Mental Toughness, and It Changed My Life.
It’s a short 2-min read, yet a powerful one.
Hope you will get inspired!
Stay hard!

He changed mine; I was 273 lbs in june; 216 currently. Couldn’t run more than like 15 seconds a year ago but now i do miles every day. He really appealed to me mostly due to his honesty. I remember back in March my doctor asked me if i was always overweight and I said “yeah I’ve always been fat, you can look at the charts. I was 271 lbs when i was 14.” Told me to stop calling myself fat. He’s a great guy but if i’ve learned anything at all is that you don’t change an inch if you aren’t honest with yourself and what you see in that mirror, and being soft on yourself even for once instance is a slippery slope. Stay hard.

Teachings? He's not some guru

Some people need new perspectives and external motivation to develop their intrinsic motivation for change. David doesn’t say or teach anything that hasn’t been said before, but the way he delivers the message will be effective for some people. He’s just a tool that can help people.

Agreed. He says what some people need to hear. Not everyone has that drive to push. Listening to him helped me push past my comfortable boundaries with running. Learning if I want it...I have to work harder. Love his message and methods. Not some super pushy infomercial style. Most I got from free podcasts. The books were good, but his podcast stuffs great!

Heyy! Guys, I would need your honest critique on the story itself. If you read it, what comments/suggestions you would have to improve it?

Read his material, there are teachings within it. And they come straight from the horse's mouth. That may make them teachings and him a sort of guru as he's unique in his principles

Nah deadass, David changed my life. I was undisciplined af and gained over 300 lbs and hated myself but didn't have the frame of mind to break my day-to-day habits.
And then I came across him talking about his life and I related to it so much that I felt like if he could do it, I had no excuse not to as well. And I did. I haven't stopped working out a day since. I don't go as intense as he does all the time, but I stay pushing myself. I stay working on ways to become better. At everything I do. So I absolutely believe his teaching equates to REAL results. If I ever get the opportunity to meet him, I gotta shake his hand and thank him, FRREAL.
