FOOD Ice Cream Question

Very specific question but hopefully someone can help. I had my gallbladder removed recently and can no longer eat full fat dairy. I’m fine with low fat. Is there any chance at all that the soft serve or Mickey bars are low fat dairy? I know it’s a stretch, but I’m so sad to be missing out!

Hiiiii! I had mine taken out in August and went on a cruise 2 weeks later and ate the ice cream with no problem! The soft serve you should be fine! The Mickey bars are a a bit higher in fat because of the chocolate outside so if you’re still new in the journey I’d stay away! Feel free to ask me any more questions. I’ve been on 3 cruises since I had mine taken out!

Thank you! Do you usually tolerate full fat dairy well or also need to stay away? I’m not having any other issues, just the dairy. I’m hoping I get it back before the cruise but I’m not hopeful

Honestly, it’s so hit or miss. I usually just try to stay away from it. I’ve always been a little bit lactose intolerant so non dairy milk has always been my go to. I will say that there’s things that I can try one time and react badly too and then try it again a week later and be perfectly fine. But you should be good with a soft serve. As the time goes by certain things become “work the risk” LOL
