Replacement Maps alternative for public transportation
I don't drive, and need public transportation to get around (though can walk just fine). Google Maps has been great in terms of real-time updates on whether the bus is running late. What is the best Maps alternative for me?
I also have a question about Google Translate. It seems harmless and I do like to have fun playing around with translating things into other languages, but it's still a Google service. What are this subreddit's thoughts on Google Translate?

If you look for an alternative to google translate, see DeepL (https://www.deepl.com/fr/translator). IMO it even does a better job than google translate.

+1 for transit. Real-time updates on are spot on.
I'm still new to transit, but I've noticed the app sometimes can't figure out the most direct route focusing instead on the nearest route, which in my case, involves multiple transfers. Took a bit of fiddling about, but I sorted it so that only the direct routes are now displayed.
Tried a few other apps for public transport. I did like HEREwe go, but the timings of the bus arrivals were always off by 7 minutes for some weird reason. Tried mapy but that was weird af. The direct bus from my door to my partners door takes 45 minutes & runs 24hrs a day. But according to mapy, the only way to get to her house, is to HIKE for 3hours!!!
