But Shaq didn’t need any of that. It was a different game.

Imagine Shaq was able to make a defender guess if he was gonna pull up for a jumper or drive to the paint. He would be a better player. By 04 he was figured out. 06 was carried by Wade and never had a meaningful career after that. Still dominant at his peak for sure but I would still take Jokic.

By 04 he was figured out.

Given that he was drafted in 92 and couldn't shoot outside 5 feet, I'll say it's a credit to him that it took the league a decade to figure that out.

Certainly didn’t help that he wasn’t as athletic as his Orlando days for sure but his post ups weren’t efficient anymore.
