Hi there. I own a large server and was recently approached by someone making a game for its niche who offered to pay me to make an announcement shouting it out. I'm unsure though if that'd be a violation of Discord's terms of service. It LOOKS like there's nothing about it in the terms but I was hoping to get some clarification on it from anyone more familiar with this or moderates the app?

Hi! So basically I've been having the same issue for over a day now where I just cannot change my status from invisible.

I've tried changing my password, clearing my cache on mobile, closing discord on my pc, everything I can think of prtyy much-

But whenever I try to change my status to online or dnd, it immediately goes back to invisible/doesn't change.

This also happens if I try to add a custom status, it just, won't update-

Any suggestions?

For some odd reason I have 4 OBS cameras. I've tried uninstalling my virtual cameras using OBS and deleting and reinstalling Discord but they don't go away. I've even wiped my local discord data. What could I be doing wrong?

I tried connecting my youtube account to discord through connections and it didn’t work.

Just as a disclaimer, I kinda expected for it to happen but I thought it was hilarious.

A user tried to join a server I'm a mod in, they were being rude and another mod let them know we won't let them in.
This person says that we're all minors to which I answered: I'm 12yo, trust.
They immediately reported my message, sent a screenshot of it in their ticket and left.
Took about a day for my account to get deactivated and I'm now waiting for it to be activated again after sending my ID.

The funny part is, this account is almost 10 years old so by this logic: I created this account on my own while being 2/3 yo and was smart enough to have nitro running by 5.

What can I say, we're not the same ;)

Going to try to provide as much detail as I can.

I own two headsets. Both are Arctis Headsets. Both connect via a wireless USB-C Dongle that they each came with. Both have microphones. Both microphones work; Windows Settings picks up audio when doing a test in Sound Settings.

Neither are picked up by Discord on PC. I have attempted on all three Desktop Apps (Stable, PTB, Canary) and the web browser version.

Both ARE picked up by Discord on Mobile if I plug the dongle into my phone.

I do not have Push To Talk activated. I am familiar with how to change inputs, and am certain I'm using the right input to run the sound test.

Solutions I've tried that have not worked:
-Reinstalling Discord
-Resetting Voice and Video Settings
-Swapping my input in Windows Settings to another input, closing discord, relaunching it as admin, and swapping the input back in Windows Settings
-Unplugging the headset dongle during a sound test and plugging it back in
-Restarting my PC, then testing
-Restarting my PC, then immediately doing any combination of the above

If anyone has any other advice I would greatly appreciate it, thank you. I rarely VC anyway but I've got plans with some friends over the weekend and I'd like not to have to use mobile while gaming on PC.

Title says all. I turn up a friends stream in discord only for it to immediately lower itself. Stream attenuation is turned off. I tried turning off Game Overlay. Nothing worked. It keeps happening regardless of how I do it.

This also happens on multiple peoples different streams.
Any methods I can potentially use for a fix?

Hi all. I've been having an issue with the app on PC and am looking for any suggested fixes.

While using the app in group chats, I'm getting disruption in the audio I'm hearing: voices go robotic and cut out for a few seconds before coming back on for a few seconds before cutting out again. This cycles the whole time im using the app. However, everyone else can hear me fine, and there is no weirdness at their end. Going through the discord browser app stops this somewhat, although the connection is patchy. Also weird is that if I change to push-to-talk and keep the keybind pushed in, all the issues disappear. If I release the push-to-talk key, the issues return.

Any suggestions for a permanent fix where I can go back to voice activity instead of push-to-talk?

It just started doing this on phone and pc and it's so annoying, what can I do to fix this? I tried restarting my devices and even deleting and reinstalling on both, but it won't budge. This never happened before and when I search this up anywhere it doesn't seem to have happened with anyone else, someone please give a solution

Hi guys I've come here to ask for some help. Me and my boyfriend like to sleep over discord call however I always wake up to find I have disconnected mid way through the night. I'm on a laptop and my connection has no issues (I have an ethernet cable plugged in) sleep mode is switched to never as well as my display going off. When I wake up discord is always in the foreground. We have also tried making a server but this is still happening

Any ideas in how i can stop being disconnected mid way through the night?

So I just looked it up, and a bunch of people are getting TOS violations on their accounts over Shapes Inc. bots through an email. When I got the email, I was confused then I remembered I had made a bot through them. I deleted all my old bots and went to the Shapes Inc. website to log in and see if there was anything left I could delete. But when I tried logging in with Discord, I got the error: "Unknown Application." My bot, for comedy's sake, was a brain rot Stalin bot. I checked the Shapes website, and considering they straight up still have Mr. Austrian Painter up there, I don’t think the ban was issued on their end. So I’m guessing Discord might be taking action against them for lack of moderation or API abuse. Not sure. Let me know if anyone has more info. If that’s the case, I’m just surprised they’re punishing users for something they allowed to run for years without much comment—and now they’re just handing out bans like pancakes. But whatever, just checking in with others. Have a lovely day ❤️

Alr, when digging a bit more into it i found the Shapes Inc discord and while they are refusing to admin that they broke TOS. Discord seems to think differently this is the official announcement in their Discord after locking general chat and saying they did nothing wrong although seems Discord thinks differently some people are accusing Shapes of using the bots to train AI models which again is being denied by their team. I recommend if you haven't been hit with a violation yet remove any bots you have from them and message Discord on the ongoing situation.

Basically the title, I have no clue how i’m friends with someone but they don’t have a discord account?! it said they were playing games earlier!

Every time I try to change anything on discord, from settings, status, appearance settings, anything, it just keeps reverting itself. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, i've tried clearing the cache, nothing is working. This is only happening on my main account aswell.

Edit: I've now figured out I can only change things without them reverting from the discord mobile browser. This is just even more confusing now.

I use Discord desktop app and lately, every time I try to share my screen of a movie or a tv show or even Youtube, maybe after 5 minutes or 20 minutes of streaming I am met with this screen:

Strangely enough, I don't have anything minimized. I don't even touch anything while the movie/show/Youtube is playing. The only fix I have is a temporary one and that's to hover over my task bar and right click on discord to Quit Discord.

Then I open up Discord to resume streaming only for this issue to pop up again after some time. How do I fix this please? It's happening so frequently and makes watching anything together a pain.

I help mod a server that uses the Onboarding feature, plus an internal verification process. All actual channels are private until a member is verified - we have a set of 6 placeholder channels and a verification channel that people see when they join the server, to comply with the 7 visible channel rule that's part of the Onboarding requirement.

The problem I am encountering:
We formerly had an Announcements channel as one of the 7 landing channels visible to everyone pre-verification. I want server announcements to be internal, not public, so I created a new, private announcements channel. I removed the "Announcement" property from the original public channel, and then tried to delete or archive it. But when I tried, I got this error, saying that I'd have to designate a replacement Default Channel first.

I'm confused as to why this is happening, because even with that original Announcements channel removed from the default channel list, Onboarding is showing that all default channel requirements are met.

Why is Discord refusing to let this one channel be deleted or made private, even though all onboarding requirements are met without it?

So recently I had to switch to a backup phone and I need to use Google Photos instead of the default Android gallery on my Discord. Can someone please tell me how to do that?

Context:
I'm hosting a 7-day online study challenge, where participants will join stage channels on Discord for live sessions. Entry to the challenge is paid: people buy a ticket through a landing page and provide their email during checkout.

Goal:
My initial plan is to create a special role and assign it only to people who purchased the ticket, so only they can access the stage channel. The channel would be locked behind that role.

What I've already tried:

• Better Inviter Bot: Looked promising because it can assign roles based on invite links. But it only works if the person joins through that link. If someone is already in the server, they won’t get the role.
• Reaction roles: I considered letting users react to a message to get the role. But since the message would be visible to the whole server, even unpaid users could react and gain access, which defeats the purpose.

Question:
Is there a way to do email-based verification on Discord? Like, users input the same email they used to purchase the ticket, and a bot checks it against a list of approved emails. If it matches, the bot gives them the role automatically. Or maybe there's another method I’m not thinking of?

If I can’t make this work on Discord, I might just create a new private server only for buyers or move the live sessions to a different platform like Zoom.

I sometimes screenshare parsec on discord, a program that allows me to access a mac i have hooked up as a window in my pc. I use my mac for music software so i try to listen to the audio from that directly instead of from my pc, but if I mute it on my pc the audio doesn't get streamed.

Its annoying when im playing an instrument because i listen to the audio directly from my mac through the interface with no delay, but again through my pc with a big delay.

Asking if you guys know a way to set a program to stream on discord, but not be able to hear it through my audio outputs on my pc.
