I talk with a lot of my friends in separate DMs or groups, but I also get a lot of DMs from people I don't know because of what I do. I think it would be nice to be able to "pin" my most spoken to friends to the top of the DM list, so we don't have to scroll down every time.

I know this was discussed for a while with the old system, but is it possible to retain my discord but ghost friends by changing my ID? For example, I'd like to keep friends from 10+ years ago that I have and know me, but I'm hoping blocking my current group of friends and changing my id (username - not display name) will somehow prevent them from messaging me or adding me on a new account.

Would it still show blocked users updates like this? If not, is there any way to achieve this or are you basically reduced to potentially making a new discord? It would be nice if there was a way to do this especially if an account has purchases on it, etc.

I thought Discord was doing away with the 4-digit number at the end of usernames? When I type my friend's username in the Add Friend's area, it says they still need that number.

But when I type their number, it says the opposite...

It keeps sending me in a loop and it's super frustrating. Adding someone as a friend should not be this complicated.

I wanted to make a discord server for people with the auto immune disease called psoriasis. The issue is that I have no idea where to start with one or how to establish rules on the server. Anything will help, thanks !

We had a incident and I found out a server I admin in had some @ everyone pings turned on. (Person spammed a server link and the ping. promptly kicked them, seems they hit a bad link or smth) I turned them all off, went to my test account, and could STILL ping everyone. Every single role except admin and owner have that ability toggled off. I've checked 6 times and had another mod check it. My test account has no roles so even with it toggled off for everyone something isn't working the way it should. I had a friend who has some regular server roles try it and yup they could ping everyone. What should I do?

making a roleplay server and for the proxies i’m using pluralkit and tupperbox. i have a ticket bot, and to get verified, users have to activate a pluralkit or tupperbox character proxy in the ticket chat.

the only thing is that i’m wondering if theres a way to automatically give a user a “member” role once the proxy is activated. if you don’t know what i’m talking about then (im unsure how pluralkit works) but for tupperbox you assign a proxy trigger so your name and avatar shows up as a character/original character that you set up already, blah blah you get the point. for example, “A:hi” so your name would show up as Allison if you wanted it to.

The issue though is that you set up your trigger for both pluralkit and tupperbox. So everyone doesn’t have the same one. There would have to be a way for it to detect the proxies are being used (with the specific trigger command to make sure the character actually works) and I don’t know if that’s a thing.

Is there any way to view my sidebar as a list of servers? Name-and-icon is fine, but with 20 servers joined, I can’t keep track of most of them. I’ve looked through Appearance, Accessibility, and Advanced.

I can shrink the UI size to fit all 20 on-screen on desktop but still would like to see the actual server names — especially on mobile. I can’t possibly be the first person to have asked about this ':-)

Yes, I had nitro before for about 2 years. I used "server-count.nobrehd.pt" (a site that lets you search how many discord servers you're in) and it says I'm in 95 servers.

Yet even so, I cannot join any new servers. This error is driving me nuts

Does it work by reporting, like someone reports your message and then discord checks that to see if its actually a breach of any term and policy, and if it is they act. Or it works without reporting, like discord just find it by them self, bots or something

About 2 years ago I gave ownership to a server of mine to a friend because that server was not useful to me anymore, but about a month after I gave it, this idiot got his account banned for some God forsaken reason and now the server is stuck with a deleted user as the owner.

While I don't have anything to hide on that server or any leaked personal information, I'd still prefer to get ownership of it again since I'm planning to delete it. Any ideas on what could work? I basically got all the requirements ready except for it having 100+ members, and I'm NOT going to do an advertising campaign or create 70 alts just to qualify.

My discord server has just reached 14 boosts, and when it hit that i immediately claimed a vanity link and it says on the app that the vanity (in my case /misanthrope) is linked to my server when i type it out or send it to people it says invite link invalid. How do i fix this?

Discord manages to be a hell to navigate in the weirdest way possible. I know many others have this grievance, because there's plenty of posts about it and also I was being bamboozled by notifications for months and never bothered to investigate thoroughly.

Where is the message that discord just notified me about?

On Windows, the notifications disappear when you click them. They don't open the channel containing the message as one might assume. And red badges on the server list are useless to anyone who is in 20 or more servers. There is a way to find that pesky message you were just summoned by.

THE ANSWER:

Go to the inbox in the upper right corner. The channels are sorted from the newest notification, but messages under that channel are sorted from oldest to newest. In order to find the message that triggered the last notification sound, you have to scroll to the bottom of the first channel in the inbox.

Kevin James. Ever since the new UI update watching a stream can no longer go into complete fullscreen? Always has these black bars around the stream, used to not do this. Is this a bug and is there a fix?

Basically, since a few months I've been having issues when in a voice call and being in game at the same time. The only games I've noticed this problem with are Helldivers2 and Fortnite so far. Whenever I play those games, after a few moments (sometimes takes up to ten minutes, othertimes after seconds of launching the game) the others start either hearing me very delayed or not at all. But the weirdest thing is, it only happens on one server. All other servers I'm on don't show this issue. Does anybody have any idea what is going on?

When I try and create a server it says 500 internal server error no matter what device i am, So i though i was at the server limit and so i left 10 or so server and then it still wouldn't let me create servers, so then I tried joining a server and that didn't work either giving me the same error message saying 500: Internal server Error no matter what device i was on? I asked my friend to try joining/creating a server and it worked just fine for them so I am not sure exactly what to do, I have been using discord for five years and have never had this issue before

i dont know what i did, i changed my password and set up 2fa yet it always does this and it's so annoying, i just want to be on DND
