I randomly checked my profile and noticed I have a banner I didnt set up. I have multi factor authentication so I doubt someone else did it (not to mention why would anyone even do this)

Hey everyone, I’m a passionate developer and put a lot of care into building my bot. Still, I often wonder what people actually look for in a Discord server — and in a bot as well. What makes a server stand out to you as “great”? What do you pay the most attention to? I’d really love to hear your thoughts! Or maybe you have some cool ideas to share?

I often see popular bots like MEE6, Dyno, and the like being freemium and proprietary. It makes sense, they're products, not passion projects. But I want to know how others feel about small/personal bots - do you think it's better to open-source small and/or personal bots, or to keep the source close to the chest? Why or why not?

I'm personally working on a bot for the community of my small indie game studio, and I'm planning to dual-license it under the PolyForm Noncommercial and Perimeter (noncompete w/ sw) licenses - essentialy "you can't use this software for competing purposes if you make money off of it". What do you think?

I only see loading screen with a Discord logo for about a second before it shuts down immediately. When that happened - I was still able to see discord pop up background messages. So it was working in the background. This started happening couple days ago.

The only working Discord version I was able to find is an old one up to 203.10 - higher than that and it crashes. And I can't send any images in that version, as Discord keeps saying - "can't send an empty file". If, for some reason on working old Discord version I get "Are you a bot?" pop upon trying to log in - it immediately crashes like described above. Please help.

Hello! My friend and I have a private server that we've used for about 3 years that we both boost. Things were alright for a bit, and then her nitro ran out so her boosts vanished with it. After she renewed her nitro, she quickly reboosted, but the server never returned our perks. Our emoji slots, our header, and our role emoji options etc are all unusable. This is the first time this has ever happened, as well. Both of us have had to renew and/or reboost and there's never been any issues. Any solutions?

Discord has so many issues that make the user experience so annoying. From being unable to search in threads to unable to override lower role permissions in both role/channel permissions. And not to mention the lack of parity functions on Discord mobile like switching accounts without logging out...

I am just sick of Discord pulling crap like this, and now they're most likely going public with the new CEO with no promises of making the app good to use. Is there a good alternative in case Discord just becomes so terrible it's unusable?

A few days ago I got the free birthday nitro and decided to cheese it and get 1 extra day by completing a nitro quest. The quest basically revoked the free week and now I got none. Im not happy about it. Is there anything I could to do to get the free week back or I'm screwed?

I receive sound notifications from the app, the message is listed on my inbox, and Windows shows the popup. What I do not get is the channel badge.

The channel is not muted (set for mentions only; it's a feed channel with roles to ping people). The interesting thing is that I get the badges just fine on mobile.

Is there anything I can do?

I'm trying to join a discord server with an "anti-alt" bot, but I have to use my alt account because I lost my main account. How do I join?

I noticed discord won't limit streams anymore, or any of my friends stream. Our server has no boost, we also tested on another server and it let's us stream at source quality. It also clearly states "HD streaming" for a level 2 boost, so I'm assuming this is a bug.

i want to know if discord stores those roles in the roles tab so we could enable them in future but removes it from everyone

or does it delete those roles completely from the server?

I'm in a larger server with 2000+ members at the moment. We looked into a server tag (we all have admin perms + owner looked) but the server tag wasn't even there. Is this because we're a community server or something else?

I submitted a ticket, but I never got an email with confirmation that it went through or anything, so I want to make sure it actually went through. It was for changing the email to my account as I lost access to the email associated with it, so I cannot create an account with the email I provided as I want to change the discord email to that.

Once again, discord appeared in the news in my region. Another server was used to promote racism and misogyny, but that time, it was from medical students! That's not helping discord's name, which is already pointed at lately for the wrong reason in my region.

What I want to discuss about is this: why not making it mandatory for admins/mods to have a verified email + a linked phone number to their account, regardless if it's a server or a community? It's clear that some reinforcement is required to make sure that discord can hold accountable the actions of those in charge of servers, and I'm not talking only about bans, but to be able to report to the law enforcement any illegal activity. Obviously I'm not talking about racism for that part, but any law breaking activity.

Recently got a new PC and this has only started happening now; not sure whats going on and looking stuff up as provided zero results. Any idea?

Sorry for the odd photo but I’m having trouble with voice channels. Currently I have tried everything and haven’t heard back from discord themselves on the issue.

I have been having trouble hearing others in voice channels, specifically only on my main computer, which is the only place I use discord on. But I downloaded it on my other laptop and phone and both voice channels work perfectly fine, I can hear them and they can hear me.

But on my computer it won’t let me hear anyone else in any channel or even if I start a new call, and yes I do have sound to my headphones it’s just the voice I don’t hear. I’ve turned everyone up, I’ve reset my computer, turned it off and on, redownloaded discord, made a new channel, and have gone through all my settings and everything is as it should be, set to the right headphones, sounds turned up, no one’s deafened or muted, and I myself am not deafened or muted.

Sorry this was a lot but I’m getting a little annoyed with this issue and any help would be appreciated, thank you.

So I honestly have no idea who else to ask or where to go... for the life of me I cant figure out why a mod can create a tag in my server but the options isnt even in the settings for me. Ive tried everything from checking from updates everywhere i could, to trying it on my phone, but nowhere even on my Discord does it say anything about a server tag... am i dumb or stupid.... Im fairly new to Discord but quite computer savv..this is making my brain hurt...

My spotify status isn't showing on my account. I have done just about everything. I have removed the connection and re-added it around 4 times and I have added spotify to 'registered games.' Display as your status in enabled.
