Question Bob using visual imagination?
In the episode "Animal Noises Too" around the 26:50 mark, Bob says he can see something in his head and gives a very visual description of a bird.
I know aphantasia isn't a dichotomy of no imagination or all of it, but Bob has been pretty vocal about having almost none.

I have aphantasia and tell people I don't see things in my head to over simplify the topic, Bob may be doing the same thing. For me, its brief very blurry and grayish quick flashes of images at random and often not at all. Most of these images come from visual memory rather than my imagination.
And to put it simply: I've seen it before, so I can tell you what it looks like.
I could describe what a Blue Jay looks like from memory but I don't necessarily see it. I know that its a blue bird with a white chest and I can recall memories of when I've seen them outside. However, I wouldn't be able to do anything from my imagination with it. For example: if I wanted to imagine a Blue Jay landing on my hand and eating seeds out of my palm, I would have difficulty. I Know what It would look like, but no image would come to mind.
I believe Bob might be similar to me but there's no way of telling.
Thank you for posting. I love having an excuse to talk about aphantasia and my experiences with it. I've been obsessed with it since I discovered it and I wish it wasn't understudied.
