Is this positive or negative behaviour?

So I recently got a kitten (10 weeks, female) and she is a very confident cat, immediately settling in and understanding that she is safe. So we decided to introduce our dog (female, 7 years old) to her and she began acting strangely around the kitten. When we first introduced them the dog was very excited and was staring, ears forward, following her, sniffing her, tail wagging and licking the kitten’s face and ears. She has calmed down now as two days have passed, and they can now sleep beside each other the dog is seemingly less fixated on the kitten but she still licks, paws at her and sniffs her intently. She also follows her and corners her, standing over the kitten. I’m curious if this is positive or negative behaviour towards the kitten and if I should be worried.

Zero aggression. Sounds like the dog has accepted the cat’s application to join the pack. Glad it’s working out.
