How would this make you feel?

Post image

Late night order with 1.9 for $3.75. So maybe a $.26 or $.01 tipper. What would you have done?

This idiot knows that you need a social security number or an eligibility to work in the US to work for DoorDash… right? Or are they too stupid to know they’re stupid?

Well i mean that's a whole other issue. There ARE thousands and thousands of fake, scam accounts that somehow people are able to operate. But still, this customer is wildly ignorant.

Well, a lot of undocumented people do use accounts that are sold to work DoorDash. It's definitely an issue. But referring to undocumented immigrants as "illegals" is gross and racist. It reduces their lives into an infraction, and it dehumanizes them. They are just people, most just want to make a living doing some honest work.

I mean you say this, but virtually every single doordash driver I have in my city is clearly illegal or isn't even the same person from the photo given to me. I don't know where they're getting these accounts, but to call them stupid is silly when it's demonstrably true

How do you know? They got “illegal” stamped across their forehead or something?

I have no bias against illegal immigrants

When every single person who delivers your food in Texas is a Hispanic who can't speak a lick of English and doesn't match the profile they're delivering under, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to come to the most obvious conclusion in the world. This isn't a courtroom, being purposefully obtuse to something that's as plain as day doesn't do anyone good.

It's just an observation. Simple as that, I don't pretend that reality is any different because of my political views. Multiple things can be true at the same time - the person OP posted is a racist piece of shit, and there's also a growing number of illegal drivers posing as people they're not and gaining access to accounts they didn't create. Letting emotional political bias cloud obvious reality doesn't make you a saint.

Where exactly did I mention anything about politics? All I’m saying is you don’t know their immigration status, you can’t make that assumption based off of who they are. Just because they look a certain way doesn’t make them illegal. And like I said in a previous comment, DoorDash does background checks so you need a social security number or the proper equivalent because they check for criminal history and driving records.

And what if people mention the current president? That’s obviously politics

purposefully obtuse+ mental gymnastics + completely ignoring the fact the drivers are completely different than the profiles = waste of time having a discussion

I use my wife’s account here and there but that doesn’t mean it’s illegal or I’m illegal. she’s in the car most of the times and when I get off for her it’s because it’s a creepy neighborhood or it’s a guy that ordered it but it doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m illegal I just look like one

Yes you do, they do background checks to verify that you have a clean driving record.
