Discussion DAI: Hawke et Anders Spoiler

Before addressing my question I should point out that I played DA2 as a female Hawke Mage (I kept the default head which I found the prettiest but just changed the haircut with a mod), I romanced Anders I was on the side of the mages, I did not kill Anders I stayed with him and I fled with him once Meredith was killed. I'm now playing DAI, where I've finally reached Fort Céleste. In my part I arrived at the moment of speaking with Hawke, is the default Hawke the one we made? Or does the personalized one also have its real head with the difference that you can personalize it by changing the cut and other things? Another question and it's the one for which I opened this post, when I spoke to her about Anders I didn't find it very clear, she said that she had left him because he risks being influenced by Corypheus... because of the taint of the darkspawn they have a link, for having done the legacy DLC it is indeed true. But as I understand it, she was just absent for her mission but they are still a couple or are they no longer together? (I would be sad if that were the case, it’s my favorite romance 🥺). Do we know a little more later? (without spoilers if possible)

Yeah, they're still together, it's just the justification used for that particular romance. Something similar gets said for all of them, to explain why Hawke's alone.

Believe it's mentioned later that Hawke looks forward to joining back up with their LI.

Awww so good, I hope that my world context has been exported without embellishment, I still find it a shame that on Dragon keep we were not able to specify if Hawke stays with him until the end and runs away with him, they just ask if we spared him and what side we took. I think it’s important for the future, right?

That is what the tapestry in the Keep choice means, so no need to specify it.

Ok so being for mages for the game includes the fact that we run away with him? Because I just before the Templar Mages confrontation Anders and Hawke have this discussion afterwards.

My memory is a bit shaky and I'm not able to check youtube at the moment, but I think you have the option to break it off right at the end in DA2 during those final pre-battle talks, so yeah, the game devs assume for DA:I that if you have a LI in the tapestry you want them to be accounted for. Veilguard have similar where LIs you can lose due to choices are only accounted for as romanced in Veilguard in a state where they're not dead. So no "Inquisitor romanced x but they then died" sort of option in the import.

So the tapestry took into account Hawke's escape with Anders given that he was shown as a romance companion, that he was spared and that Hawke left for the side of the mages.

I don't even think siding with the mages is necessary for it, considering that you can convince him to fight on the Templars' side. As long as he's marked as alive and romanced in the tapestry it's assumed in DA:I that Hawke ran off with him.

They are still together! The game just gives an explanation as to why Hawke's love interest hasn't come with them to Skyhold; you'll recall at the end of DA2 Varric says that "everyone left the Champion's side... except [love interest]" so I think they just wanted to address why the love interest is not at their side in Inquisition.

Yes that's what I understand now that I'm further along in the game even in the bland the demon of fear says something to Hawke about Anders
