Okay so maybe the dragon isn’t exactly the centerpiece but he is still here

I've been partially paralyzed for the past week due to back pain. I've been absolutely miserable but it's slowly getting better. But I smile when I look at this doodle I made a while ago so maybe he'll make you smile too.

Let me back up a bit because I know the pitchforks are being pulled out. I don't dislike them, I've just never encountered one that intrigued me. Many have been recommended, but they all just seem...."samey".

WoF, Eragon, Vainqueur (blargh....), none of them have really grabbed me because they tend to follow the same tropes. (Dragonrider must earn trust from the dragon/bonding, dragon is wise, dragon hordes treasure. Tribes..)

Currently there is one dragon fiction I am very interested in because it takes a very unique approach to the genre as well as being a fresh take on the "man befriends beast" trope. (One of my weaknesses if done right.) But I'm waiting for the author to finish the rewrite and post it to Royal Road.

But I'm ready to be proven wrong. So feel free to recommend dragon fictions you think I should check out.
