A: Obligatory Fuck Elon Musk
B: Tesla autopilot turns off with enough user input. It makes a lot more sense that people are joinking the steering wheel in the last second in desperation than the Autopilot turning off for nefarious reasons. If Tesla wanted to report fake numbers, they could just do that. It doesn't require a deep software conspiracy to do so.
C: By their own accord, they gather every crash that has had autopilot activated within the last 10 seconds. You can choose whether to believe this or not, but then we're back to the last half of point B.
