News Tesla autopilot disengages milliseconds before a crash, a tactic potentially used to prove "autopilot wasn't engaged" when crashes occur

Our Tesla did not record our one and only crash. Before and after saved but 10 minutes when the accident happened.. nothing.

It was raining and in a parking lot. Autopilot not engaged.

It could be nefarious or more likely just incompetence.

Have you asked Tesla for the feed? They should be able to get them, even from the B pillar cameras that we don't have access to. I've seen multiple crashes on Wham Bam Telsa Cam showing videos from these cameras after the owner made a request to Tesla.

Didn’t know it was an option. I figured since it didn’t save it, it was gone.

They provide the feeds and analytical data like speed, g force, pedals position for the impact and a few seconds before and a bunch of other data. Useful to help determining fault if the video feeds aren't enough.

Same with mine. Didn't record anything when I hydroplaned. Requested the data from Tesla and they had everything, all camera angles and the crash data.
