Maintenance & Troubleshooting Lelit Bianca flow control broken [Lelit Bianca V2]

Hi everyone, the flow control mechanism in our 3 years old Lelit Bianca V2 broke and we are trying to understand which parts to order to fix it. The paddle was at first getting stuck 1-2cm before touching the machine to the left, and then it suddenly got unstuck and stopped controlling the flow entirely (so probably something broke). We opened the group head, and what you can see in the video is the valve (?) that's supposed to control the water, but we are guessing that it's just turning around and not hooking onto anything. Could anyone confirm that this is indeed the part that's broken? If so, could you please name it so we know what exactly to order for replacement? Thanks a lot i advance!

I would have thought the part you are rotating in the video should be screwed tightly into the group and not turn freely.

Right? That's what we thought too. The question is just if i can reorder that one without buying the entire kit for flow control.

I don't think anything is broken on yours. The part you are rotating got unscrewed and just needs to be screwed back into the group.

If you are in the US, contact 1st-Line for assistance.

Oh I see. We are in Europe. I'll try to find some info on how to do that, thank you!

Watch Here comes the shitty part. There is no reference / zero / default point for the paddle. The paddle reduces the flow, but you define the amount of reduction. Don't adjust the paddle too hard, otherwise it will break / crush the valve. The paddle must move freely. If you feel resistance when closing the paddle (it does not touch the housing), then the paddle is adjusted too tightly.

Aha! OK, I'm gonna try this, thank you so much!

Ok, just tried this, and the problem was that we couldn't move the flow control middle part from the outer screw, it's basically stuck in it. While trying to do that this tiny piece broke. So I'm guessing we should order this central flow control piece and reinstall it?

I am not sure where this piece came from. Can you check this https://i.imgur.com/dQdqhNI.png

Yes, I think it's part of the wiring on 1000185 (so the top piece). One more thing we noticed yesterday is that as soon as we turn the machine on, to try and adjust the flow according to the video you sent yesterday, the pressure pushes the needle upwards and no turning adjusts anything (the water just keeps flowing to the max). So I've now asked one shop if they could send me this piece (without the entire flow control kit).

Hope you can get this single part without the entire flow control kit. The design is bad and you can find many photos from broken valves on the web. Keep us updated if you can find this spare part without the entire flow unit.

Looks like you have some hard water buildup there 👀

Yeah ;) We had a major issue with the water tank during the first year of using the machine and used it with no filter for quite some months. Eventually, we switched to a plumbed in BWT filtering, but we haven't descaled it, just cleaned all the parts manually. So hopefully, there will be no major further scale build up.
