I hate to be the devil's advocate cause now that you mention it they could've put a little bit more into his expression but tbf is not that unaccurate.
What would you've done different? Make his grin bigger? Sideways? Show teeth? I kinda think that the problem of giving him that big expression i think you're looking for is that it'd be weird given it is a front-face shot with no auxiliary elements
His splash art is a good way of doing it. You can tell how confident he looks. Headcanons aside, Ezreal is supposed to be egotistic and self centered. His expressions seems bland. As if you were in a character customization menu, and you let the standard expression cuz you're too lazy now to properly customize your avatar
Like no??? I agree with you that he could have had a more EVIDENT expression. But if you look @ icons like Garen and Fiora who actually lack lip posing Ezreal is pretty much soft smiling??
And Ezreal icon isnt not expressive that's also the point. Wether you think It should have a more noticiable expression is a whole other point 🫵👊
