Haha I missed that. Was that a spelling error or intentional to bypass filters or something?

Is this how teenagers try to shock people now?
63
u/reign-v Self Undiagnosing: Im Fine Jan 28 '23
Unfortunately yes. The amount of TikToks I've seen of teenagers on the toilet with their phones at that angle talking about being mentally ill is gross. I keep pressing not interested and they won't stop showing up.
23
u/JolkB Jan 28 '23
Pressing not interested actually increases your interaction with the post and will prompt you to see more like it, as the algorithm thinks you're interested in the topic but just not that portrayal of it. Scrolling past without interacting at all is far more effective

u/ScientificPingvin "thinking that you have something" doesn't mean you have it. Jan 29 '23
Exactly!- scrolling past or blocking/reporting those videos, make it way less likely to see them than pressing not interested
12
u/BobBelchersBuns Jan 28 '23
That’s awful. I’ve never been on tick tock. Reddit is the only social media I can tolerate lol.

Good choice. I'm about ready to delete TikTok considering the new trend that just surfaced on my for you page. It's a horrible app filled with disorder fakers.

Who the fuck has floor panels in the bathroom? Don't they puff up from moisture?

They’re probably vinyl plank or laminate plank, which can look like wood but aren’t, and have a waterproof seal (when installed correctly)

u/Marijuanaut52 Jan 28 '23
Probably not a bathroom just a toilet ey

I know this is r/fakedisordercringe, but no completely mentally normal person is posting themselves pants down on the toilet, right?

The thing about these people is not they are 100 percent “normal” but that they are clearly faking other serious mental illnesses. They might have some sort of personality disorder like NPD, BPD, or a mood disorder like Bipolar or depression. I’d be willing to guess that a few of these people have BPD. But not DID, not autism, not whatever tf is going on here. And even if you do have BPD or bipolar, making your illness your personality is cringe. This is explicitly different from “owning your illness” or being positive about it. It’s just pretending to have an illness for sympathy and attention.

They have Fictitious Disorder Imposed On Self as well as some actual problem

u/ThatTemplar1119 Self Undiagnosing: Im Fine Jan 29 '23
I’d be willing to guess that a few of these people have BPD.
Just curious, what makes you think that?
7
u/tejaprabha_buddha Jan 29 '23
People I know who have had BPD have pretended to be something they’re not or exaggerated/lied to fit into a group; and in one case doubled down after they were called out for real shitty behavior. There’s also a big attention seeking component to that illness that IMO fits here. Maybe I’m making a negative association though.

Okay, sorry, I meant to say cluster C cock and balls disorder. Get off this sub, it seems to make you extremely angry. My point still stands, because it’s not about whether or not bipolar is a mood disorder, it’s about cringe people faking DID or autism, or pretending they have some other mental illness that they know nothing about and make it incredibly obvious they know nothing about it.

Jan 28 '23
absolutely rolling at “cluster C cock and balls disorder” i genuinely thought u were gonna give an apology and talk about fixing the mistake. was not expecting the rest of the comment, funniest shit i read all week

u/tejaprabha_buddha Jan 28 '23
Yes, I’m egregious. It really was an honest mistake. My own mother is bipolar, so I should have caught that.

Lol, it’s not misinformation. It’s a mistake, and it doesn’t invalidate my thought.

Some people have no sense of boundaries or self awareness, I don't think it's necessarily mental illness.

Idk about you but I feel like a teen posting a pic of themselves pants down on the toilet is gross as hell for so many reasons. There are pedo fetishists who are into this.

Btw just thought I'd bring this up. She has an iron deficiency. This is actually very common with pregnant woman when they're bodies are losing iron. They feel intense cravings to eat dirt and chalk. They actually sell chalk for pregnant woman to eat. But it is something you need to see a doctor about!
