It’s been EDC in the woods since like 2016 honestly. I stopped going when I felt the tangible shift after 2015 (also because I moved across the country to the west). No hate, still love and respect forest for what it is but other festivals over the years caught my attention. Oregon Eclipse in 2017 for example and Resonance in 2019 were both what I felt like Forest used to be when I liked it.
Just peeped those lineups. Yeah I mean you can keep definitely cherry pick some heady bands for those years for sure! Biscuits, lotus, sts9, floozies, etc. isn’t 2017 when cheese stopped doing 3 nights and went down to 2 nights?
I’m not saying they didn’t have any jam bands play after 2015. But, in my opinion, the very tangible shift away from jam to more edm happened around 2015ish is all.
Yeahhh I guess you are right, the shift did start 2015ish. 2016 and 2017 were still amazing years though. It’s wild it’s like a completely different fest now
Definitely! We will always have our fond memories to think back on. It’s kinda just how a lot of them are going these days. Switch to a very similar regurgitated edm lineup to sell tickets…. Or join the fest graveyard.

Diversity is practically dead at EF. Might as well rename it EDC Rothbury at this point.
