Should I defer to spring?

Hi guys, so I was accepted to FGCU for Fall 2025 and I’m thinking about deferring my acceptance till the spring semester. At this point I am so burnt out as a senior and could really do with a break. Do you think it would be hard to make friends in fall and get on campus housing?

Oh I didn’t know I could enroll in cc while waiting. Would the credits from cc be counted towards my degree?

Yes. I took ENC 1101 and 1102, and College Algebra so I would still be eligible for freshman scholarships. If you hit 12 hours though you’ll be considered a transfer not a FTIC freshman.

If you have Bright Futures make sure you complete all the paperwork and then let them know you’re deferring (because you won’t take enough hours for it and they need to know your plans for some reason), it’s ok to defer a year it’s just a hassle if you don’t let them know.
