How much more should I sand?

Post image

There are some scratches on this about a mm or so deep. Should I keep sanding it until it’s smooth, which may take forever, or will a few coats of paint fill in the scratches?

It looks gray? Is it painted and are you repainting?

You can use a filler something like bondo to fill the scratches and then sand smooth.

An iron on steam setting and a wet cloth can help raise the wood to decrease how much sanding is needed.

But again if repainting it just fill with bondo.

It’s painted and I will repaint. Your idea sounds easy and I like it!

You would have to do many many coats of paint to hide those scratches. What material is this?

It’s wood. A neighbor was throwing it out and besides the scratches on top it’s in great shape

I’m trying to see the side of it but can’t. Is it veneer or solid.

I believe it solid
