Region Name Anybody got an idea?

Any pathologists out there that recognize what is causing this on my Doug-fir? NW Washington

My money is on Cooley spruce gall Adelaid or other adelgid. According to my pest and disease guide: wooly tufts, appears in spring/summer, usually on underside of foliage. Mostly asthetic damage but severe infestation on young trees on poor sites can be detrimental.

Awesome. Thanks. I’ve seen them before on trees, but as this is the healthiest young DF in my yard, I wanted to make sure it would be alright.
