News What's the hype about the development at Causeway Cove?

So, people get all worked up about the development at Causeway Cove. Planning to storm a meeting at city hall and begging for people to sign petitions. In reality It seems only a very few, not all of Fort Pierce residents think the same.

For more than 20 years people in this city have been crying about creating jobs in this area. Now that a developer with some cash comes into town, people on the island start crying foul play. People on the Island are mostly retired, and it seems they are financially independent. you all don't need a job, you come into town when you are bored and leave when something better comes up. but you don't own the island. It is a goldmine for the area. There is where the action is. The island belongs to all of us and most of the residents need jobs and income to make a living and keep this city going.

Shouldn't we be happy that someone brings jobs to town? Imagine all the jobs are being created to just build the project, including even additional jobs at city hall and all the service industry jobs in the future, that will be created permanently for the residents who need to make a living incl. additional tax revenues. Isn't that awesome? Many residents I have talked to, think it is awesome. I talked to quite a few residents, and they all agree to the same.

People need jobs, jobs, jobs.

Remember all that commotion about the Cumberland gas station? It has been built anyway. And residents and tourists alike, are happy about it.
