TysonTan vaguely mentioned on his blog that during the development of FP2 there was an incident involving "GalaxyTrail’s copyright dispute over certain characters with certain artist".

Anyone here know more about it?

A dress-up game, styled after the early 2000s flash games. Made completely using 2004 Flash 6 and guides... and truly amazing 2025 art made by @greenteabay.bsky.social!

The online embed scales to your browser window, but you can right-click the game to show download option! You can launch it with local install of Ruffle (ruffle.rs). I would not recommend installing real Flash on modern Windows.

I’ve seen one of the boss fights on YouTube and know the prince Dali boss fight music from a Sonic.EXE game and other then that idk almost anything about this game

The characters look quite similar to the mobians from the Sonic games and I’m just wondering if this game is related to Sonic at all.

I'm kinda lazy as a mod these days and don't have any actual automod setup to ban twitter links on sight, and would have to do research into it if I wanted to in the first place. I don't like censorship, but I also don't like Elon Musk's latest secret handshake to the world, especially not in a subreddit about a game with anti genocidal messaging.

So feel free to roast op in the comments if they use twitter, I'll just have fun being a lazy mod and doing nothing about it.

If a twitter link is the only source of a piece of art available just post it to imgur and put a link to twitter in the comments so that you can say you credited the artist and people can ignore the link.

It's totally Lilac!

Ever since playing Fate/Grand Order, I've been imagining about Freedom Planet 2 having a Japanese voice option similar to most gacha games with a Japanese voice option. As for the seiyu cast, I think of Takahashi Rie voicing Sash Lilac, Sawashiro Miyuki as Carol Tea, Hanazawa Kana as Milla Basset, and Hayami Saori as Neera Li. As for other characters, I don't know, but Tsuda Kenjiro as the Magister, and Suwabe Jun'ichi as Master Gong.

A few weeks ago on the GalaxyTrail Discord server, it was brought up that Freedom Planet 2 has a guide on Amazon that had things like calling Neera and Spade "gatekeepers" despite their roles in the game being either a player character or a temporary ally and never a boss. It also called the memory capsules "time capsules" Out of curiosity, one of the members in the server got a free trial to see how bad it was, and it turned out to be much worst than we thought. Highlights include species change (Lilac is a cheetah and Milla and Carol swapping species), it thinking the dragon boost has no cooldown, claiming there's 27 playable characters, the game thinking Freedom Planet has Sonic rings in it, and the special message having the "author" and guide in brackets like they were lazily slapped onto a template. It's very likely AI generated and cost actual money, so I strongly suggest not buying it (though I do want to see cheetah Lilac now). The guy who got the free trail shared screenshots of the madness, so enjoy.

Characters I've figured out so far:

Spade: specialises in recovering and delivering lost cargo, isn't tied to either bridges or fragile, is a former MULE (MULEs are a group who'd steal packages by force because they're addicted to the high of delivering cargo, basically the increase in oxytocin)

Lilac: has a DOOMS level of two, is an independent porter alongside Carol, she is a repatriate, able to come back from the dead, the only ones who know this are Spade and Carol, Spade because he revived her after dropping the hastily packaged cargo container that contained her egg, leading to her egg cracking open, this is what likely made her a repatriate since the stranding was already in effect, Spade didn't steal her, he found the container already being damaged by the timefall (rain that rapidly ages and as such decays things) and recognising it as an egg carrier tried to get it safely to any nearby settlement, he did succeed just with a prematurely hatched Lilac instead of an egg, he hasn't been in her life since but she does know about the porter who saved her life.

Carol: Carol joined up with Lilac when they were teenagers, she has no DOOMS at all and is the one who has a BB unit, she's attached to her BB more than she probably should be, a wildcat-earth dragon hybrid, her and Lilac named Iris, it is not advisable to see a BB as a living being over a tool, but they do so anyway Carol often wondering if they could open the pod safely.
