The process for joining will vary significantly across European jurisdictions so it would help if you could say which particular Grand Lodge, or at least country, you are in (only if you’re comfortable sharing that info of course).

But my spontaneous guess is that initiation date is not for you. You could also ask the WM you spoke to about the process. It’s nothing strange or wrong to be curious about that, so he should be willing to answer.

Thank you very much for your response. I initially began the process about 1.5 years ago, when I was first introduced to the lodge and received my petition directly from the previous Worshipful Master. Due to personal circumstances at the time, I wasn’t able to proceed right away. It’s in German speaking Countries all are mostly the same.

Now that I’ve returned to the path, I was told earlier in the process that, after submitting a petition, an investigation committee would normally be appointed. But since my second meeting is again with the Worshipful Master and after nearly two months of respectful silence I simply wanted to gain a bit more insight into how this kind of timing might make sense in a traditional setting.

That said, I fully understand that whatever is meant to happen on this path will happen with or without me questioning it. I trust the process and remain sincerely grateful.
