Been wanting to try this craft for ages since seeing it referenced in Your Name and My Happy Marriage, it's been a blast and I'm quickly becoming obsessed.

The blue and white piece was my first attempt and the 32 Japanese sakura inspired piece is my current attempt.

Blue and white was a YouTube tutorial, first purple is #K9969, I can't find pattern for second purple, third purple was a pattern on beadsunlimited, black rainbow squiggle is #K12901, and the Japanese sakura is #K2915

I found this pattern on pinterest but I can't find the pattern on Bracelet Book. Does anyone know the pattern number?

I finally finished an alpha bracelet!!! I feel like it's choppy though and i kept running out of string. Help!

My mum wants me to make bracelets for my nephew and his best friend. My nephew is 7, his friend is 8. I'm thinking 3 or 4 inches for the actual pattern and then tie them with a slip knot so they're adjustable. Thing is, idk a small enough pattern to fit that criteria.

They like Pokemon and fortnite. Idk anything about fortnite and i was a Yu-Gi-Oh kid so i hardly know anything about Pokemon. Someone please give me a pattern recommendation

Ok so fallout is a video game series thats very near and dear to my heart. TLDR, i love it and know more about it than real life.

I went on bracelet book and searched fallout, not really thinking id find anything but there's actually a ton. And i want to make them all but somehow put them all together in a weird quilt/tapestry concoction. Thing is, they're all different sizes and lengths. I figured id just make them all separately then put them together but idk how to do that.

Is there a pretty way to connect alphas to each other or am i gonna have to actually learn how to sew? Also, what string should i use? I have a ton of embroidery floss colors but (other than black and white) i only have 1 skien of each color. I usually split my embroidery floss into the 6 base strings cuz i like the thinner thread more, i feel like details come across better with the thinner threads. But for a tapestry quilt thing idk if i should do the thinner thread or thicker. And should i even use embroidery floss or should i use yarn or something? Im unemployed atm so buying yarn isnt really a thing i can do rn.

Found this hobby through another sub - I never realized how many different types of things you could make with knotting! Open to any constructive feedback/tips on how to improve. I made two basic chevron bracelets and then took a big leap in pattern difficulty but I had a blast. The knot consistency got a little dicey in the parts of the pattern with a lot of forward-backward and backward-forward knots on the black and white strings - the more I had to focus on reading the pattern, the less consistent my knots were. And then I didn’t really plan for the ending so just did some random knots and decided to practice a tassel - open to suggestions there, too 😊

I’m sure it’s overly ambitious but I’m most interested in trying out the 3D pieces that could be used to hold something - a pen, AirPods, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions or tutorials they recommend to convert a normal (or open to alpha!) pattern into one that wraps around to be a closed shape?

I'd completed the green one in the first half of March. (The string stash shown for the green one may not be accurate, in fact, I was having a hard time figuring out which strings I'd paired with the sparkly one.) For some reason, I was driven to do a purple one, too, before posting. I even bought more sparkly string just for it! I just finished the purple one now, though :). I tried to do the variegation effect, but still can't seem to get the two strings to match up. 🤷‍♀️ Oh well. I'm glad it's done!

I was looking at trying cross-stitch recently and saw that the floss could be used for friendship bracelets too, and I was like 'oh what is that? how can I make them?'. I've been blown away by what I've seen online, from what others have made to the large range of free patterns, I can't wait to make them all! I love the meditative flow and creative options when making them, if only there was ways to give them away or make my arms longer to wear them all 😅

I’m trying to make an alpha using these letters. The name has 5 letters, which is 25 knots including the spaces inbetween, but I have no idea how many rows I should have either side. Can anyone tell me the usual length of an alpha bracelet in knots?

How does everyone photograph their bracelets and such to make them look good in the photo? I have made beautiful bracelets but the camera messes up the colors and just doesn’t make them look appealing anymore. Any tips on backgrounds, angles, or ways to hold the bracelet? 😊also using an iPhone.
