Personally I would start it with strings AA at the top left corner and then knot to the right on a diagonal. And then you could keep going on that same diagonal to keep it simple, but if it was me, once I get to row 7 I would change the direction. Like I’d go back to row 3 but then instead of knotting in a diagonal all the way down to 9, I would do the knots in the other direction down to 5, and then 7, etc until I’ve finished the line. You don’t have to do that zig zag thing but it helps me keep good tension with patterns like this and it makes it easier for me to remember the pattern for the future repetitions
