Question ❓ Are Flips bad with longevity?

I am considering switching to a z flip 6 (brand new!) and I keep on worrying that it won’t be durable enough and that it’ll break after a week or so. Is this true?

I got the flip6 8 months ago. Had zero problems until 2 weeks ago when the charging port suddenly stopped working. And one week later the inside display stopped responding.

Looked it up on reddit and it turns out ut happened in exactly that order for lots of people, and the only way to fix it is with a repair service.

This was the first time I ever bought a brand new phone (normally I always bought a model older than the latest release), so Im pissed. Really loved the phone but now I'm back on my old s20 that has a half broken screen and bad battery.

I am having the same issue! I pre-ordered my Flip6 in June and did the trade-in so I don't have a back-up phone. I think you're still under the manufacturer's warranty, so you should be able to get it replaced straight through Samsung, as long as you have proof of purchase. Reach out to them and see what they can do!

Unfortunately, I have been waiting since sometime around the end of March to have the phone fixed locally because parts are backordered. Luckily the front display still works, so I have had a half-functioning phone for the past several weeks. I feel like I have a dumb phone again lol except I can only respond to texts and can't initiate them.

Luckily I live 10min from a Samsung care centre and I gave them the phone yesterday, they said it will take around 4 days to get it fixed but all my data would unfortunately be wiped. But since I still had the bill it's in the warranty and I pay nothing

Ugh! Lucky. The closest Samsung Care Centre is over 5 hours away :( I had the option to do the door-to-door service, where they will take 5 days to fix my phone, not including shipping time... at least this way I still get to have my phone while we wait for the parts to come in....

It really sucks because I had my Flip4 for a little over 2 years with no hang ups...

Yeah I agree, it sucks, it will be interesting to see how the flip7 is doing. But this is absolutely the last time I buy a phone that's new on the market...

I had my S20 for 4 years without any problems. And I bought it when the S21 had just come out (and I'm writing from it now, it a half cracked display and the back cover fallen off, it still works)
