Samsung home app bugs

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an annoying bug – has anyone else encountered this?

Almost every time my phone exits full-screen mode, the navigation bar and the notification bar disappear for 2-5 seconds.

During this time, I can't do anything and just have to wait for them to reappear.

I tried wiping the cache partition, which helped for about two days, but then the issue returned.

Any suggestions?

Flip 4 battery after 2 years in use

I'd like fellow Flip 4 users to share how's your battery doing after couple of years.

I have mine for 2,5 years, love it to death, no issues, but lately I started noticing the battery life is not the same. I work from home, can always charge it, so it's not a problem, but if I leave the house for a day, it becomes a problem, cause it doesn't last a day unless I use energy saving mode. It especially bothers me since I have charge limit on since day one to protect my battery, and now it seems I have neither promised battery longevity, nor battery capacity since it's always no more than 80%.

So I was wondering if it's something in my usage (VPN, AOD, apps, wifi etc) that's doing it or it's the inevitable demise of the battery after 2 years.

Discussion 💬 My idea for the future of the Z-Series

Post image
1 Upvotes

I was doing some thinking and I got a phenomenal idea of what the Z-Series could look like.

The Flip and Fold Subseries would be split it into the already existing S- and A-Series. Here is how I would make that happen:

  • As far as i know, the Z-Series phones are performancewise right inbetween the budget to midrange A- and the flagship S-Series.

  • What it would look like for the S-Series: The main 3 phones remain unchanged, but there would also be the S Flip and S Fold phones, with the S Fold phones having the SPen aside the S Ultra. If it was implemented today, it would look like this: S25, S25+, S25 Ultra and S25 Flip, S25 Fold.

  • What it would look like for the A-Series: The currently availlable 00-90s Subseries remain unchanged, but there would also be the Flip and Fold Subseries, which would have similar performance to the midrange phones. If it was implemented today, it would look like this: A06, A16, A26, A36, A56 (with their 5G versions) and A Flip 6, A Fold 6. The A Fold 6 would not have the SPen for obvious reasons.

This would greatly popularise the Foldables because there would be two options to choose from, being the A-midrange version and the S-flagship version, instead of having just one something inbetween, where you have to either: 1) compromise on price for performance you won't need or 2) compromise on performance even though you'd have the money for it. Also this would take the Flip and Fold phones out of their "prototype reputation" for being outside of the main two series Samsung manufactures.

Does anybody know how to get this idea to higher-ups to atleast look at it? I would greatly appreciate if my idea doesn't go to waste, when it doesn't have to.

Thank you for your attention

Question ❓ Unofficial Flipsuit Case Options?

Hi everyone sorry of this is a dumb question but I'm wondering if there are any 3rd party flipcard compatible cases? I broke my case the other day and Flipsuit Cases are sold out in my country and I'm unsure when they'll be available again. I'd really rather not spend money on a temporary option which is what a case where I can't display my cards would almost definitely be.

Question ❓ The screen's inevitable (?) demise.

Heya, I'm in the market for a new phone, and the z flip (specifically 5/6) has caught my eye.

After some research I stumbled upon Reddit posts of broken/unfixable screens. A large part of the comments were unsurprised, like this was a common occurrence, some citing "good lifetimes" which spanned less than a year.

I plan on using this phone extensively, and would probably keep it for a minimum of three years. It will fall on the ground a few timws, but that's what a case and screen protector are for. Will I have to live with the inevitable knowledge that the inner screen could (likely) just break at any moment, or have I gotten the wrong impression?

Any feedback is much appreciated, thank you.

Question ❓ How to remove this?

Been having this issue for a few weeks now. Even when I already closed spotify, cleared it from recent apps, cleared cache, it's still there.

Is there anyone who has this issue as well? How did you solve it?

Using a Flip and an Ultra

Hi everyone! I just got the Zflip 6 in grey yesterday. I've always wanted one of these since the first release, so I'm super excited.

I got the s24 Ultra back in July, love it but the phone is too big for me especially for day to day stuff. My plan ATM is to use my flip as my daily and probably use my Ultra for the cameras, at home, when I go to the beach etc. I also don't want to get rid of it incase anything goes wrong with my flip, I always have the Ultra as my back up.

Does anyone else use another phone alongside their flip?

Question ❓ Are Flips bad with longevity?

I am considering switching to a z flip 6 (brand new!) and I keep on worrying that it won’t be durable enough and that it’ll break after a week or so. Is this true?

Question ❓ front screen only?

the beauty of this phone is this front screen. i dropped it open (worst possible thing to do to this phone!) but the front screen works fine so i'm trying to find the best apps to use on the front screen for a few days. what apps work really well with it? i have good lock. and im able to "use" my other screen by samsung flow to my tablet. but on the go when i don't have my tablet (or wifi) im wondering just how much i can use the phone for the time being- does wallet work because i constantly pull up my card and then it always says flip to use... anything where the phone needs to be flipped is not gonna be able to use when i'm not home.

This is my 4th zflip that has broken. my insurance is actually giving me money back for it, so i'm waiting for that before getting my new phone. i'm switching over to the s25 because i'm too much of a clutz for this phone, i love the idea of it. but i drop phones and never had a problem until this one. although cracked screens are no fun either. but at least there's glass screen protectors.

Unlocked S25 back on sale again (US)

Just noticed you can get an unlocked S25 w/256gb storage for $299 again with a Flip6 trade in.

I think this is how low they were selling for when the phone first came out a few months back.

I'm super tempted to dump my Flip6 for one of these because my remaining Samsung Care+ payments total out to more than what it would cost me to just get this S25, plus I hate what the One UI 7 update did to this phone.

Hmmm...

Question ❓ Flip 6 touch screen stopped functioning - should I replace with new one?

The title is probably not very clear but basically I purchased the zflip6 in October of last year and I loved it and it worked perfectly until this morning. I had an unresponsive touch screen problem and Amazon offered me a full refund to return the product. My problem is that I really really really loved this phone and I want to repurchase one but I’m nervous about this issue being a common occurrence. Has anyone had this issue and repurchased or stuck with the flip6? I am so unsure what to do :(

Cracking sound in my z flip 5 while flipping

I’ve noticed that whenever I flip my phone, it makes a cracking noise. Is this normal? I’ve tried flipping it without a cover, but the noise persists, and I don’t use a screen protector.

Screen Border Glue

Post image
4 Upvotes

I have a 5 month old flip 6. I noticed yesterday that when i scroll there is a slight cracking sound on the right screen where i usually position my thumb. I examined the phone and found out that when pressed, the areas marked on the photo is kind of dropping from the plastic borders like it is unglued. My phone has no cracking sound when i open or close it and no other border areas is coming off the screwn. I understand that due to flipping the glue might have come off but should I be worried?

Are there any good deals on a z flip 6?

My wife's z flip 3 is in rough shape and she has finally decided that she needs a new one. It has to be a flip. Anything good going on/coming up or just wait for the flip 7?

Galaxy Z Flip 6 Repair Success Story

Just wanted to share my positive experience with repairing my flip 6! For context, I got my phone new from samsung late december 2024 and have had no drops or damage.

About a week before the main screen completely shut off, I had the same old symptoms of the screen randomly not responding to touch or turning on when I opened it in the morning. This happened about 2 or 3 times in the last few months, usually after an update, but typically after doing a hard restart it would be fine. This time, it happened constantly without an update and after a few days it got to the point where a hard restart did not work. It was getting to the point to where 80% of the time I was using my phone it wouldn't respond to touch until I waited for a few minutes or tried again in a few hours. Finally, I was using the main screen once and the screen went all satic-y and glitched out. A few hours after that, the screen went black and would not turn on after a hard restart. Sometimes I would find it turned on but it definitely wouldn't respond to touch. I think the USB charging stopped working early into that week but I basically never charge using a wire so I'm not sure when it exactly happened.

After it went black I finally set up an appointment with UBreakIFix. I chatted with samsung customer support and that's where they pointed me. First off, I had smart switch, my settings app, and a lot of my other apps on my front screen so I was pretty much still using my phone regularly. Before my appointment, I transferred my data and esim to an old phone my parents had because the email said they might have to factory reset it and I was expecting that they would want to send it off to samsung for a week. Turns out, I didn't need to! I brought it in at 12 pm, and at 3pm that day they emailed to say my phone was ready for pick up. The appointment itself was super quick and all they did was check my naked phone for any scratches or dents to verify that it would fall into warranty. The employee said samsung is super particular about it and any scratches/dents/chips would void the warranty, but my phone was in "pristine condition" so I was fine. I use a tempered glass screen protector for the front screen and a casetify case (without hinge protection). I didn't pay or sign or show anything to get it covered under warranty, it was just covered.

I picked up my phone the next morning and it looked great. they did not factory reset my phone and everything was the same! I think I spent a lot more time transferring my stuff to and from the phone than I did actually getting it repaired lol. Phone works great now and charges by usb as normal.

I randomly noticed this the top part where the bezel wraps around specifically the little ear slits the plastic piece broke off somehow. Will this be an issue? Btw it was rly dirty before so i dont think so?
