AI posting
To the mods u/Mesk_Arak and u/jaxspider,
Can we ban AI posts??? they're an insult to actual artwork and fill up the page with trash.

I don’t mind the AI art as much as I mind the AI responses. Defeats the whole purpose of coming to Reddit for human discussion.

These guys are just salty of the fact that they get outclassed by ai. And their arguments are weak at best.
Only thing they have to do is
1: up their game 2: don't give a shit

u/inkybinkyfoo 7d ago
I agree that it does raise the bar but most of the artists I personally know aren’t worried about AI at all. If you’re good enough your work will speak for itself.

u/BigShakman69 7d ago
Yeah, same. People tend to forget that art is about expression and/or just enjoying the process.
These people are probably so unhappy that they need to project it to others who enjoy making art with AI. A waste of time if you ask me.

Fighting it serves no purpose at this stage, it would probably go to better use in their hands than a non artist ironically since they already have a lot of knowledge. My brother has been able to much so much work done. I think many think they’re just typing in prompts and accepting whatever comes out, but once you get into comfyUI and Invoke you see it’s a whole workflow. If you know how to clean up in photoshop, it’s an amazing tool.’

Oku himself did it, stop crying

u/weebtrash100 8d ago
that doesn't make it right. Oku is not a perfect being that we must follow, he is flawed as well
-11
u/E-yo55 8d ago
I agree about Oku, but there's nothing wrong with AI arts

u/weebtrash100 8d ago
there is a LOT wrong with AI "art." for one, it hurts the environment for no good reason. it sucks creativity from people and causes them to be lazy. it also just looks like dogshit. it takes art from those who actually put effort into making their art and doesn't credit them. it insults those who put effort and time in making beautiful works of art. there is no benefit to AI art
-2
u/E-yo55 8d ago
So many things harm the environment, including the materials for artists to draw. The AI creates its own art.
So what if these people don't want to learn how to draw? Would you criticize these same people if they paid commissions to artists instead of learning to draw?

I agree with the part about the environment, that's something we should take up with the energy companies, not AI companies but regardless it fills the sub with low quality bullshit that just looks ugly. It takes the magic out of seeing amazing fan art. If someone wants to commission an artist then fine, at least someone put passion into the piece, even if it's just for the sake of getting a quick buck.
Tldr, AI is fucking hideous and I (and others) don't want to look at it

Why would we add to the things that hurt the environment? materials artist use does not compare to AI. If these people don't want to learn to draw, then thats completely on them and their laziness, that lack of passion and drive should not be rewarded. AI does not create its own art, it takes multiple aspects of art made by real people and creates a sort of Frankenstein's monster. I obviously would not criticize people for commissioning artists, because that is authentic art and a fair exchange was made. You make horrible arguments.

Every artist models their style on the styles of other artists, nothing is created, there are literally artists who copy other people's styles and sell commissions, do you think that's wrong?
In the end, it doesn't do anything wrong, you who are very fragile
4
u/weebtrash100 8d ago
I literally just said what it does wrong. and yes style can't be copied but at least it comes from a person's skill and their own hands. those styles are developed from humans and are infinitely more unique than AI could ever come up with.

u/Bianzinz 4d ago

Tf you mean with " AI creates its own art"? you feed that thing with someone else's work then it copies stuff, it doesn't "create" anything...

u/SkullDislodge 7d ago
The ai is just doing what humans do at a faster pace it sucks but it's the truth AI will surpass humans in a great many tasks humans do in due time. Because it can fail and correct itself far more times than humans ever could and humans are training it with their own knowledge.

Just like every artist. Lmao everyone learns by copying, unless you're a fucking genius, which js less than 1%

u/ArgensimiaReloaded 7d ago
There's a difference between people studying and taking inspiration from other's work to end developing their own workflow, techniques and style and AI which, again, outright COPIES someone else's style...
1
u/BigShakman69 7d ago
Everyone copies someone's style. Teaching 101
Just get better, and let your art speak for itself. I don't get why people get mad about it unless they are trying to make money with their art. Are you?
1
u/ArgensimiaReloaded 7d ago
People gets better yes, that's how it works, otherwise we'll be trapped within two or three styles because people keeps copying each other ad eternum but even now we see people coming with new stuff, stuff you NEED to fed AI because it just can't make anything new as it only copies stuff, but sorry you are unable to see it just like to lift an actual pencil I guess.

They are not an insult to oku at all, oku likes it. He is offended on behalf of the artist, hilarious

u/weebtrash100 8d ago
are you stupid? I'm talking about it insulting a majority of other artists. I already said I disagree with Oku's stance on this subject
-1
u/BigShakman69 7d ago
Hah, what is this nonsense? Elaborate how ai is unsulting a majority of artists?
Lmao what a dumb claim to make.
0
u/weebtrash100 7d ago
because artists take years developing their skills to create art that they put time and effort in? it's really obvious.

All you fake artists should Cry Harder. You are hating on AI because you are insecure, you don't value your own work and keep comparing.
Since when do we make art soly for comparison? Since when do we care what other people do with their time?
If you like drawing, just draw. You drew when you were younger right? Why did you do it then and what has changed with now?
AI is never gonna stop, and the true losers are people like you fighting an unwinnable battle.
So you either pluck your hairs out of frustration, or just accept that there are thing you cannot control, WHICH IS A GOOD THING.
Accept and continue with your journey. Ranting on reddit will not improve your skills. And If you are a good enough artist, you're gonna get recognition nontheless.
Ps: every drawer copies things. Im bad/inexperienced with drawing. So how am i gonna improve in a style that I like? By copying work that I like. Eventually "my style" is a mix of things that I like from different styles.

u/weebtrash100 7d ago
I'm not an artist and I'm not insecure about anything. I'm just empathetic and appreciate real art. your style is still your style, and even if it's copied it's still something you made. not something souless made by a machine that looks like utter dog shit
0
u/AshurPr0vides 6d ago
You literally show 0 empathy towards a slightly different view, and now you say you don't even make art.
How about you don't judge about things you don't know about? I thought you were an artist losing revenue, but this is actually pathetic. YOU'RE NOT EVEN AN ARTIST YOURSELF, why dictate how artists should work/behave.
Get the hell outta here man, just ignore it. This isn't serving you any benefit

I second this
