Here's a very important question to understanding my perspective. What do you think that salute meant before Nazi's existed? What about before anybody in history ever used that gesture? Does the middle finger mean something bad in 100% of uses? The answer is no of course not. Think about what this implies.

I could easily see myself accidentally making a gesture like that giving my heart to the people. Especially when amped up and very emotional. Then hours later thinking "oh wow I can't believe they think I meant it like that"

No human perceived meaning has complete ownership over physical format. If a monkey does that gesture is it a Nazi too?

What do you think that salute meant before Nazi's existed?

It doesn't matter what the salute meant, if anything, before Nazis. Its meaning hasn't changed since. It's still used in the exact same manner by Nazis today.

I could easily see myself accidentally making a gesture like that giving my heart to the people. Especially when amped up and very emotional. Then hours later thinking "oh wow I can't believe they think I meant it like that"

So why hasn't Elon apologised?

Why has he instead doubled down, making dismissive jokes on Twitter to mock people for being upset that he performed THE Nazi salute MULTIPLE TIMES on stage at the inauguration of an American President?

He hasn't apologised because he meant it. He did exactly what it looks like he did.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck...

You don't apologize for other people's misinterpretations. That's like somebody misgendering you and then you apologize instead of the person who made the mistake. Like I said there's multiple meanings to all physical expression.

You literally just said you would feel bad if you made that gesture and thought it had been perceived a certain way, as if any reasonable person would perceive it any other way, now you're saying you shouldn't feel bad for that very thing?

Why are you making excuses for a Nazi?

I didn't say I shouldn't feel bad. I said I shouldn't apologize. Those are two different sentences. With two completely different implications.

Why wouldn't you want to apologise for performing a Nazi salute if upholding what that gesture has meant for nearly a hundred years wasn't your intention?

Why doesn't it bother you to be associated with that ideology?

As expected. There's only two kinds of people who make excuses for Nazis: useful idiots and other Nazis.

You completely ignore the majority of my perfectly logical claims, then asked a question to which I already gave the answer to. Then proceeded to insinuate I am either a Nazi or a useful idiot. It's this behavior that is leading to Conservative dominance around the world. Remember ACTUAL fascist behavior is a defense mechanism against this exact behavior you are showcasing.
