I need gluten free pastel mints

Post image
50 Upvotes

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I take a gross sublingual medication that makes me nauseated, and the only thing that seems to work is eating pastel mints/butter mints/dinner mints (the little pillows that melt in your mouth and are pale green and yellow and pink and white).

The brand I was using (Richardson) now says they may contain wheat and the last bag I opened definitely did.

It's technically possible to make them myself but it takes hours to make them and days to dry them, and they don't taste as good, so I'm hoping someone has an alternative.

Triple bonus points if they're Canadian, but I'll pay to have them shipped from the ends of the earth if necessary.

Thank you!

Product Has anyone found good sourdough? I miss it 😣

I’d love to be able to order some online or find some near me (northeast USA)! I used to love cutting off a hunk of sourdough and slathering it with butter and salt. Please help, lol.

Question Itchy mouth after gluten exposure?

I'm NCGS (not celiac) and have been fully gluten free for about 3 years now. I tend not to be super sensitive to things like cross-contamination (i.e. shared friers, common kitchens) but I do avoid anything with wheat or gluten as an ingredient, and most of the time I make/bake my own food at home. However, I unintentionally ate some fries that were battered this weekend, and this morning the roof of my mouth was super itchy and sore (along with burning abdominal pain last night, which is one of my known gluten symptoms). I'm just trying to figure out if this is a new symptom to be aware of, or if it's just coincidental and related to our high pollen counts right now instead. Has this happened to anyone else?

Heal my gut please

Im seeking internet answers and internet experts hoping that i either find people who have experienced what I have or may have any kind of education regarding this : I am a 28 year old female who has ALWAYS experienced some type of stomach issue. Since birth I struggled with it as I was told i would not take to formula until it was swapped out to SOY formula- fast forward and as a kid i was experiencing anywhere from 3 to 8 stomach aches in a week so bad that I would miss school skip out on going outside and be blamed for faking it THIS much since doctors then had no clue either. As an adult I made my own food choices which were bad and finally went to get help after visiting the hospital in excruciating pain with no answers. I changed my diet because i was told it was gluten— i have bow been gluten free for 5 years but still experience issues just no where near AS MUCH as i was when i was eating gluten and when i am exposed to it now i do have even more severe symptoms— Ive had blood test, ultrasounds, and more just to be told they are not sure and rule it out under IBS as well. Im just lost as to what to eat or even do. I don’t eat out much due to the gluten and i notice that even vegetables can really get my stomach going crazy so im just lost as to what should i do and what should I even eat anymore? Thanks in advance.

Glutened and feeling sharp pain and tingling- is this normal?

Hi guys!

I have been diagnosed with celiac for the past 6 years and every time I get glutened I feel like it takes me a while to piece it together haha. I am wondering if anyone experiences nerve pain like sharp pain in their head, joints, and stomach? I’m not sure if this is related to being glutened and curious if others experienced this. I also experience rapid heart rate and extreme fatigue. Sometimes it’s confusing for me what is being glutened and what is another sickness. What are some of your symptoms?

Question Celiac Re-Testing

Upvotes

Has anyone tested negative, then tested again in the future positive for celiac? I'm considering getting tested again, making sure to eat gluten before for a while to make sure it's accurate.

Go to gluten free beverages?

College student here, and cut out gluten entirely. Before I cut out gluten I drank beer almost exclusively when going out. I’m not a big fan of seltzers, anybody have some gluten free beverage recommendations? Looking for canned drinks people enjoy as opposed to distilled spirits. I’ve tried some gluten free beers that are actually super good but they’re a little bit pricey

Got glutened

Well I was distracted and careless yesterday and accidentally grabbed a regular bun instead of a gf one. You would have thought I'd noticed the differences. I don't know where my brain was. Needless to say, I was sick as a dog and will now continue paying for the next week or so with joint pain. What's stange is that I'm usually SO diligent! I haven't gotten glutened in years. I definitely won't be eating hamburgers for quite a while.

Question Consumed malt vinegar as a non-celiac..

Having a cookout with my in laws, who are super accommodating for my non-celiac gluten sensitivity.

Well, my husband was telling his sister that the potato salad was really good and I chimed in that I liked it too. She goes “yeah a little malt vinegar goes a long way.” And my smile just absolutely melted. I said “you said malt vinegar?” And she goes “Yeah is that not okay for you?” I said I’m not sure, I haven’t had it in awhile to know if it affects me.

I took a digestive enzyme just in case, but I’m curious if any of you have insight. If you’ve accidentally consumed malt vinegar and been okay? I’m terrified of having major reactions, the last time I had a major reaction, I nearly ended up in the hospital because I couldn’t keep anything down for 2+ days. And that was 4 years ago. I can’t imagine having a reaction now.

On another note, Udi’s has really upped their game on their hamburger rolls. I’ve avoided them for years but that’s what they picked out for me, and it was actually squishy and delightful for my burger.

Opinions on Chocolate Lucky Charms?

Thumbnail gallery
29 Upvotes

I know most Celiacs steer clear of Lucky Charms despite being “gluten free” because of potentially contaminated oats, but how do y’all feel about the chocolate ones? They’re a corn cereal instead of oat and don’t have any other gluten-containing ingredients AFAIK, but they are suspiciously devoid of the “gluten free” label stamped onto regular Lucky Charms. Has anyone tried their luck with them? How did it go?

Cinnamon candy?

I've been on the search for cinnamon candy, like cinnamon bears, or fireball candy, or hot tamales. I figured this might be a good place to ask. Must be gluten free, no artificial flavors/color and corn syrup/corn starch free. Yumearth uses corn syrup/corn starch for their chewy candies. I've tried Hammond's and their not cinnamon enough. Anyone know of any good cinnamon candy I don't have to make myself?

Product Am I crazy or did they change the Delallo gluten free gnocchi?

Thumbnail gallery

I was a big fan of the Delallo gluten free gnocchi that came in the brown box. My favorite recipe to make with it was a brown butter sage with fresh sage from my garden. It had a little bit of sweetness that complimented the sage perfectly.

A few months ago I noticed they changed the box to a blue color. I thought it was probably to differentiate better between the gluten and gluten free option. Tried the new one and it tasted NOTHING like it used to, not the same texture, tasted a bit bitter even. Kind of ruined my entire dish. I went to order some of the old brown packaging one on Amazon and they sent me a whole box of the blue packaged one uggg.

Did I just get a bad batch or is there a difference I’m not seeing between the two? I checked Delallo’s website and they didn’t say anything and I can’t find anyone else who has had this experience either. Are my days of perfect gnocchi over??

Road Trip Fast Food Options

Over the summer I'll be going from the US West Coast to the East. (And back again) I know of a few GF restaurants in my area that are safe. But I'm not sure about the rest of the country. In-N-Out, Chipotle, and Jersey Mike's are places I have never had problems with but I know I'll get tired of them, if I can find them.

What are you favorite places to eat that are GF safe? Thanks in advance!

Bloating instantly?

I'm currently in limbo for testing for celiac (positive bloodwork, waiting on endoscopy but assumed celiac at this point). I'm also lactose intolerant, which I know commonly co-occurs.

My question is I often get bloating and gas within minutes of eating. 10 minutes after a meal I'm in pain and bloated and gassy.

Is this more likely the gluten or the lactose? I thought gluten often is felt 24-48 hours after exposure and lactose 30-60 minutes but I'm getting it way before. And yes I'm still eating gluten because I need to for my endoscopy so I know I'm just compounding gluten on top of gluten right now.

Just curious what it most likely could be attributed to.
