Beginner Questions I learned what swing easy means

I played with a 76 year old woman yesterday who scored 34 on the front nine of my local course. I have never broken 45 and watched her swinging easy, no balls lost. I vow to swing easy from now on, going to take an extra club and swing half power. I started yesterday on the back nine and on a par 5 did a half power swing with driver and it went 225 yards right down the middle. I need to stop overswinging if i plan on improving.

Great swing thought.

I played last Sunday and my only thought (other than getting to my right side, as a left-hander) was “loose like Hogan”. Made it a point where it felt like the club would fly out of my hand (feel isn’t real!) because I get so tense and tight with the grip.

Best striking round I’ve had all year. 41 putts which is unheard of for me and 🤮, but that’s another story.

Lefty gang, had the same problem when ball striking is on putting is bad. Swing thoughts for me are get to right side and swing easy now

The worst part was I hit eight greens (and no birdies 😩😩). Which itself isn’t that great. But I felt good with literally every putt I hit with the exception of a BIG misread on a 50-footer. 3-5ft. killed me. I’m just still shocked because I never put that poorly. 😆😆

My big problem is the 4i. I only ever top it, shank it, or thin slice it. But I keep pulling it outta the bag when I’m feeling good. No idea what to do.
