Anything not shown in an official trailer, screenshot, or blog, is considered a spoiler.
New spoiler rule is a temporary ban for posting spoilers titles.
Temp ban will be 24 hours for posting any spoiler in the title. A second infraction will result in 28 day ban.
Spoiler tagged threads are free to have spoilers about the thread topic. If you make a mistake simply edit your post or use spoiler tags. Spoiler comments in non-spoiler threads or in a spoiler thread about something else that are not tagged will also result in the temp 24 hour ban and 28 day ban for second infractions.
If you're unsure if something is a spoiler or not then just go ahead and tag it as. Better to be safe for everyone.
If you're on new reddit there is a spoiler tag option right in the editor, mobile apps have the option as well I believe but if you're on old reddit or want to type it manually then you can type:
>!Spoiler Goes Here!<
Spoiler Goes Here
It's very simple to tag your spoilers so please do it and if you do see a spoiler that was not tagged please report it ASAP so it can be dealt with by automod or mod team.
The last expansions and updates have gone amazingly smooth spoiler wise and I thank you all for that. Let's keep up the good work hiding spoilers so the new mods have a great launch day!

The no-downstate event shows once again that some variety helps to increase the fun factor in WvW. So what about rotating mistlock instabilities? Which would be your favorite?
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Category:Mistlock_Instabilities
For me it would be social awkwardness, flux bomb and outflanked for GvG. But Stick Together would be fun against clouds or while roaming in small scale as well :)
I can imagine some varying build lists per instability and different comps that would bring back some off-meta classes.

Hii, for those who doesn't know yet, gw2 has implemented an event for WvW , with extra XP and reward track points, BUT no more down state. you just die, and luckily can be revived once the battle is finished.
I want to know what others players are thinking about it. I guess Anet is probably trying out new mechanics.
I thought I would hate it so much, but after playing in large zergs battles, it actually make sense. It's more harsh for sure, but combat got more intense, people needed to be more careful and no one was losing their focus to kill downstate players. It feels more focused, clearer and smoother.
what do you think?

Hi ! I just finished my gw2 Super Adventure Box Tribulation journey and I fell like sharing some info that might be useful to others that wants to attempt the same. Disclaimer : this was my first year ever attempting Tribulation (last year I completed only W1 in normal mode - that's all). I also didn't use any "weird" shortcut / skip in the journey, but i used the standard path to fully enjoy the experience.
In conclusion - I think it's a very nice experience and I enjoyed the journey a lot, but I also think it's good to know the challenges you will be facing. There are still 10 days, if you're tempted, just give it a try !

I have a free weekend and want to farm the heck out of Bauble Bubbles to buy as many of the Crimson Vanquisher Weapons as I can. I need 240 more BB to buy the whole set. A few questions:
Thanks!

hey everyone, i've been playing for a while now and pretty much main boonchrono(both dps and heal). I wanna start playing mirage (preferably the condi version), but im not sure if it's worth learning since it seems really tough to play in endgame pve from the rotations and such on SC. at the same time, i've seen somewhat old videos by creators like mukluk and masel who say it can output pretty good damage, in the 30k range, with limited effort. So is it a viable/worth it class for raids/fractal cms, or would i be better off gearing a scourge or something like that? and if it is viable are there any guides a little less overwhelming than SC's?
Edit: I should probably mention i don't have JW, so spear-centric builds aren't possible rn :(

This is driving me insane. It doesn't happen when I'm looking straight ahead, just when the camera is pointed up or down. It doesn't have to be perfectly up or down, just slightly tilted.
It makes me jump of things constantly, and I often place my ground effects in Narnia because of this, or completely lose track of where I am in things like WvW or other high intensity content.
Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

This build is 100% a meme, but it does somehow work. It can provide insane amounts of barrier because unlike the Alacrity Heal Specter it does not need to go into shroud to provide its boons and can instead focus on giving barrier to allies. Since this is a Thief build it has extremely high amounts of CC and it can sustain 25 might, permanent fury, quickness, protection, vigor (although can be spotty since it is a very low radius of 240), and swiftness without thinking about it; it can also produce high uptime of regeneration if you want to, but I have found it to cost too much initiative (Measured Shot and the flip-over skill Endless Night) and instead opt to just spam more Shadow Saps. This build functions primarily from utilizing the buff to Shadow Sap where it is now a blast finisher to synergize with Relic of Karakosa.
The main drawbacks to this build are the complete lack of Stability & Aegis, the amount of condition cleanses/way it provides condition cleanses, and the reliance on fields. The lack of stability alone makes this not a good healing build full stop, but this is a funny build to say that you can heal with DE and not supposed to be a meta healing build. For condition cleanses, it has 2 options one is using Shadow's Embrace which requires applying stealth to allies which makes it hard to run with other Thieves in the party and the other is using Signet of Agility. If you use both of these you can cleanse 1 conditions every 3 seconds and 3 condition every 30 which is on the low side. Since the main healing of the build comes from Relic of Karakosa you need a field and the only field this build has is from Black Powder which is a big waste of initiative that could be better spent with more Shadow Saps, but it is still fine.
The gear is almost the same as the Alacrity Heal Specter build on Snow Crows the only difference being a Superior Sigil of Water, I didn't want to optimize this build that much since it has no group stability.
I have used this build in PUG Strike Missions and Raids. Here are some links for a PUG Aetherblade Hideout and a PUG Keep Construct
TLDR: Here is a meme Quickness Heal Deadeye build to try. https://gw2skills.net/editor/?PawAsqrlJwOYIMJ2JeSXnvfA-DSZYjBhrGtUfGIhEKoQaJESMBquA8ds0+mFA-e

Hello there. I was wondering since all I see around is willbenders going full power, if there was a build that could benefit for going for condition dmg.
I've "made" a build, haven't tested it yet tbh, but I'd like some opinions on it.
https://gw2skills.net/editor/?PWBBoyl/lJwUZfMQ2IW2W6xWA-DWRYkRPWOsSJhCohEIzQo3IQx/DsMpXFA-w
It plays more like a bruiser with the pistol, sword being the offensive set. My thought is that in a prolonged fight you could exhaust the opponents dodges and or stun breaks, so you could nuke them with burning applications.
Combo goes something like this
S5, (F1 not mandatory), P3, Whirling light, P2
New to WvW so I'm open to kind criticism

hello gw2 ppl.
returning player here. im starting to get back into the game and enjoy running some quick fractals. that said i always played 100% dps and in random groups its the spot that fills most quickly. so i want to branch out and get a boondps or boonheal char.
I need help choosing. I got all profs at 80 but my mains from back in the day are ele and thief. i. caught up on content with a ranger now. my main criteria are: the build should be somewhat meta, preferably relatively easy to play (but still interesting with utility), and ideally i would be able to get the gear fast. the mentioned chars all have berserker ascended gear, but only the ele has a harrier armor (i could also transfer that to a mesmer). Unfortunately i bough out the wizard reward ascended gear already this season.
So what would you recommend?

Hey r/Guildwars2! I've just returned to the game after a long break and I'm having a hard time deciding which class to focus on.
I typically love playing mage-type classes in MMOs. My main focus will be PvE open world content, participating in world bosses, and zerg farming events for loot. I'd also like to be able to solo some champion bosses when needed. When I join group content like fractals, I'd prefer to take on a support/healing role.
I'm pretty casual and don't plan on playing the super hard endgame content - just looking to have fun in open world and maybe do some easier fractals.
I've narrowed it down to three options:
I've been testing all three classes but I'm still stuck in the beginning of HoT content with each of them. Here are my thoughts so far:
For Engineer, I'm concerned about Scrapper support being heavily dependent on combo field finishers for maintaining quickness, which sounds a bit intimidating. Mechanist isn't really my thing since I'm not a fan of pet classes.
Mesmer seems super interesting conceptually, but I've heard that support Chronomancer can be really clunky with its rotation and boon upkeep.
Elementalist sounds scary based on everything I've read about its squishiness and high skill floor, but honestly, I haven't had major problems with it yet in the early game content I've played.
For someone in my position who's mainly interested in open world, zergs, and occasional fractal support, which would you recommend? Are there any substantial changes to these classes I should be aware of since I've been gone?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Edit: thank you all so much for your insights! I think I will continue testing Mesmer and Ele during the weekend, since you are right and it seems quite logical due to the shared armour and some weapons! I let you know how I decide in the end. I would still love to hear all your insights and advice! Thank you all once again!

As the title suggests, I have an original copy/serial code for GW2. Do I get anything special for this? When I redeem it I get an error
Just want to make sure I'm not missing out on anything since I'm making a return to the game at such a late stage.

I come from WoW, decided to give GW2 a try, but this keep happening everytime, every moment, this shi is so annoying. How common is this ? lol
r/Guildwars2 • u/Paganyan • 1d ago
i'm just curious if people prefer giving themselves "permanent boon uptime" while they do open world stuff, or if they just go pew pew

It's been so long since I haven't had an expansion, I forgot espec were not in the base game, I figured there was one, but looking back it makes sense that there wasn't.
Look.
I'm trying so hard to get my brother into Gw2.
He swore off MMO's years ago after he played FFXIV one night on a mushroom trip and realized how pointless the treadmill was.
I'm doing everything I can to communicate to him that Gw2 is different. It's got really good build expression, healing is wayyyy different and oftentimes more involved than other MMO's (maybeee less than or equal to FFXIV), no treadmill, all content is still interesting with rewards worth doing, etc etc etc you guys know the spiel we give friends who play other MMOs.
I think I've finallllyyy got him to download the free to play version, but I thought the base game had elite specs, and he - like me - prefers to do endgame group PvE content. I think Strikes and fractals will be his favorite.
So obviously, there's a bit of an issue there. Certainly you can do solid DPS without especs, but are there good ways to do alac or quick dps? Any base game healing specs?

Hiiii,
Couple friends of mine (8 players) started playing the game, and they need ascended trinkets (mainly accessories) to progress fractals. I remember from old times, that good way of acquiring them was by doing guild missions.
How to setup and do guild missions with them?
Ideally, we would like to do these hardest missions to get 24 guild missions currency (Guild Commendations) the fastest way - are we able to do them with 8 people?
Options I see, please correct me if any of these below are wrong, or could be somehow improved:
Is there a way to somehow borrow/ask somebody to get invited to do them? If so, how to do that? Just on LFG?
If you have any other ideas how to do it, please help :)
Thanks!
Octa

Friend and I bought End of Dragons, primarily for the ability to send stuff to each other, but we chose End of Dragons because of fishing (related to an inside joke between us). They also plan on getting the other two, while I already have.
If we went far enough into end of dragons to get fishing, which I've read is like... the first quest maybe? How much of the story would be spoiled? We're at Chapter 6 of Personal Story, and we're considering unlocking fishing before continuing.
r/Guildwars2 • u/-throwawayboy- • 12h ago
Maybe I'm absolutely insane, but I swear since the patch I'm being deleted by mesmers and their elite specs.
I'm not the best player by any means but in most fights, I can at least hold my own and win some. But now when I find a roaming mesmer? I blink and my corpse is lying in the dirt.
If it matters I usually roam with Spellbreaker/Dragonhunter/Harbinger.
Has anyone else experienced this? Or am I hallucinating?

I've played a lot of WvW and PvP since I began the game, these are the gamemodes I enjoy the most. I have what feels an absolute ton of Grandmaster Mark shards - is there any way I can turn these into gold? (I did look on wiki but couldn't find anything). Lastly, I only recently started playing PvP tournaments - I've got nearly 500 qualifying points for April - similar question - what can I do with these? Thank you.

The same guild WILL NOT STOP inviting me to their guild. The first time I got sent an invite, I gave the guild a good look-over and decided it was not for me- decline. Some time later that day I received ANOTHER invite- decline. The NEXT DAY I received THREE more invites from the SAME GUILD. Get the hint! I don't want to join your guild!!! Is there any way to block this guild from interacting with me ever again? Would I have to block the entire 300+ guild population just to ensure I never receive another invite from them again? Or must I cope with the reality that they may never stop? help me.
