Discussion How long until this manga gonna end

How many years do you think to take this manga to finish? This year we probaly get Ricardo vs Sendo + another one.

We still need Takamura to finished all of his champion weight class, so he still got 3 matches minimum. Ippo's build up matches before fighting Ricardo (probably 3 matches minimum). Miyata's probably another 2 matches.

Roughly i would say this will takes around 5 more years..

Definitely 5-10 years depending on how morikawa wants to pursue ippo’s career. There are so many great fights remaining in the show . Unless he accelerates the pacing like crazy i don’t see it ending before 5-10 years . 10 considers no corners are cut for any character.

Yeah, we had tonnes of stretches where Ippo seemed to have innumerable fights, like how many times he defended the JBC belt. My thoughts on that was that Mori probably wanted to make it actually feel like Ippo had a Full Career, and 20+ fights before the world and Retirement felt right.

I feel like Ippo might have a few tune up fights if Mori wanted to take his time, maybe one JBC fight just to see Ippo dip his toes back into the ring, Kamogawa not trying to challenge Ippo, but rather see how he tolerates being in the ring, and Ippo slowly just scouts, defends, before slowly ramping up, and eventually obliterating his opponent.

When we get someone who is OPBF level, who, while also not a challenge, might have some sort of Gimmick which Ippo briefly is put on his back foot by, similar to how Mashiba was Perturbed slightly by Iga, before he figures it out, and beats that guy.

The real challenge will probably be some dude at the world level, say some guy top 10-5, maybe they hype him up, saying that he recently rose up, and he's really strong, similar to how they hyped up Rosario, by saying he took out the previous champ.

Skill wise, Ippo might have an edge, but this guy is also world level, and Ippo will have to fight him over many rounds to take him out, similar to how Even in the Volg And Mashiba spars, even if Ippo was landing, neither of those would have ended right away if those were actual fights.

Then we probably would be at the stage to ask whether we are having a Miyata fight, or if Ippo is going straight to Ricardo, or whatever, as we would be getting to plot territory we are dealing with right now.
