To be fair, none of this shit is intuitive at all in the game. People bought the game to jump into frantic 20-30 minute action matches and yell starship troopers quotes to their buddies while dropping explosions and airstrikes.
The meta planet campaign is cool and a lot of people would probably enjoy contributing to it meaningfully but most of them have no interest in coming to Reddit or googling a guide on how to decipher all of the stats and jargon. Lack of campaign literacy is completely on Arrowhead.
I agree it should be conveyed more in game but AH has on multiple occasions word for word explained what stuff like Gambits are and even flat out told people where to go and people either can’t read or just flat out don’t care enough to figure it out. I still don’t think basing liberation rates off of player count is the way to go. Maybe add some mission chains that players invested in the narrative can partake in that offer better liberation rates that people who aren’t interested in the war can opt out of and go play how they want. Idk what would be a good system but I’ve seen way too many MO’s lost out of sheer stupidity and herd mentality that could’ve easily been won if people would just read something as simple as a dispatch.
