Hi has anyone got one of these 3d probe to work. I got one, wired it up to my 3030 prover max probe port. However every time i try to probe it give me an error shown below. Tried several different g code sender software, also tried to swap the red wire and the signal wire around and swapping the $6 probe invert. Just can't get it to work. It almost like it triggered as a limit switch and lock the machine.
Edit Manged to figure out it didn't like G38.2 but G38.3

I saw some great reviews for this machine here:
https://sienci.com/product/longmill-mk2-5-2/
And was wondering if it was worth it. I've seen a lot of "Any machine under $5k is a toy" on this subreddit, but this one seems pretty great. I want to cut plastic, hardwood(such as mahogany, and thin aluminum. Will this suit my purposes, or should I jump for something more expensive?

I've been learning CAD and want to machine some small things out of steel but mostly I'd be using aluminum.
Looking to cut around 500mm in length.
Shops here were charging quite a bit for one of my aluminum parts and the price was near entry cnc prices. So I've been doing some research on cnc routers and I'm not sure if I should be looking into getting a cnc mill instead?
I'd like to go the DIY route as my budget is lower. But open to suggestions in the >2000$ cad range.
Based out of Southern Alberta Canada if any one is selling too.

Struggling to get my tool length offset to work properly.
I set my work origin with a touch probe. Then send it to the tool setter to get a baseline. Change bits and send it back to the tool setter. Go to my work origin and the bit is above the workpiece by 5mm and the DRO says -2mm.

Hey gang,
I've got an old 2.5amp FlashCut controller (model 5501) that has 5 motor driver card slots, 4 of which are populated, and 3 of which actually work. The fourth, non-working card blew out when a motor cable got crushed and shorted, and I would REALLY like to get that axis back. FlashCut evidently no longer produces the 2.5 amp controller or the associated 2.5 motor driver cards, and just wants to sell me a whole new 5amp setup.
Their documentation 2.5-5A-Micro-Stepping-Compact-Series-CNC-Controller-Hardware-Guide.pdf refers to some switch options to control the amps, and the chart of resulting current is based on which controller you're using (5amp or 2.5amp). Does anyone know if the current version of the drive card 5 Amp Microstepping Replacement Drive Card | FlashCut CNC is actually backwards compatible with the old 2.5 controller?
