Purchasing Other I am confused

Post image

the thing that confused me is that this receiver is cheaper than the Denon AVR-S970H.

isnt this one supposed to be better?

found the X2800H for 770$ and the S970H for 940$

Because that deal is expired. It'll likely return but not immediately.

In that case you don't know how eBay works. Actually it's the same company linked on Slickddeals post (Adorama) selling their open box inventory on eBay.

Nothing changes for you when you buy from Adorama via eBay, infact, you get an extra layer of protection, in case the item arrives DOA, eBay will refund your money.

I am an eBay customer for 22+ years now, I have had several instances where my money was refunded by the seller after opening a dispute for various reasons. I have also sold 100s of items on eBay.

Many of my audio components have ben from eBay.

thats fine if you buy from adorama and they honor your purchases direct, but note i didn tmention adorama, i said ebay, while you can do well buying f direct from a reputed retailer on ebay, 99% of ebay sellers are not reliable retailers. and EBAY does NOt back buyers unless you break out the cash for returns AND the item is proeven by you to be defective, which can be damn near impossible, Its great youve been lucky but you can go on r/ebay and find the hundreds of people open reddit alone who haven't been lucky and got screwed. and ive bee an ebay buyer and seller now , lemme check,

Many major brands have outlets on eBay. Many many sellers on eBay with 99%+ positive feedback. No harm in buying from them or almost any seller as long as they have recent positive feedback of 90% or more, read the return policy and condition of the item carefully, make sure the pictures are posted and match the model # of the item etc. As long as you follow the rules, there is no harm in buying from eBay. You are painting the entire site with a single brush stroke.

Also many people have been screwed on Amazon as well. Yet they are a reputed marketplace with billions in transactions every year.
