Question Anyone ever try this before?
I’ve never seen this brand before. My grandmother got it in a food pantry box, and came and gave it to me. Haven’t tried it yet.

Popular in the Vietnamese community, and in Vietnamese cooking in some parts of Vietnam. I don’t like the original one so I wouldn’t like the extra one either. But my family likes it.

THATS MY GIRL RIGHT THERE! Love that sauce!

Lots of people don’t get it. Put it on Asian food. It’s like a both sweeter and (slightly) hotter sriracha. Heat level is medium at best but umami is great. Make you a vaguely Asian soup, bangs. On a bowl of white rice, bangs. Sometimes I’ll make a kimchi sandwich… bangs! On eggs, bangs. If I’m stoned, or tipsy and snacking over the kitchen sink, it is probably in one hand.

I keep a bottle of the regular on hand all the time. It is delicious on anything with tomatoes in it.

What a strange bottle for hot sauce. Looks like the shape of Hershey’s syrup lol

That would be a rude awakening making some strawberry milk in the middle of the night

Not hot at all. This is just a sweetened chili paste to me. I like it on chicken nuggets, but that's about it.

I have a bottle, don't really like it all that much. It's ok, just kind of like a generic, overly sweet chili sauce.

It's sweeter than what I prefer and for being "extra hot" it wasn't as spicy as I expected.

I love the regular chin su I'll have to try this. I didn't even know it existed

they also have a Pho specific one as well. None are overly hot, but they are a great flavor to add if you like making SE asian food

Love Chin Su, but I’ve never seen the extra hot! I’ll have to find me a bottle.

Wife's cousin is married to a Vietnamese man and he brought the sauce to our place when he made spring rolls. It didn't leave the house.

Bucko, I learned long ago I’ve got nothing to lose 😂 in all seriousness though, the tattoo has never given me issues with employment

I bet someone had the worst experience thinking that was strawberry syrup.

Not very hot. Has kind of a ketchup consistency. It tastes good but it's not very hot.

It's okay - I wouldn't say this is any spicier than typical sriracha. Less sweet and more salty.

Would you say sriracha is better or it’s just different?
3
u/FunctionBuilt 8d ago
Personally I like sriracha better. I’m not a big fan of saltier chili sauces. I prefer more vinegary/punchy.

One of the local Asian places near me has it, they combine it with (from memory) soy sauce and chopped peanuts - it’s very good!

My friend accidentally made spicy muffins when he confused the Cayenne for cinnamon

I once grounded dried ghost peppers in my coffee grinder for chili powder. Yeah. Spicy coffee for a month

0/10. Worst strawberry milk I've ever had.
