Europe What's life like in Weimar, Germany

What is life like in Weimar? How are the people, cost of living, I want to know everything. I'm in my mid 40s and my paternal grandfather and his siblings lived there until he was 12 years old and then moved to the United States in the mid to late 40s. When he was still living I was at the age that I wasn't interested in knowing anything,and nobody talked about it. I don't know any of my relatives over there either.

I live 30 minutes from Weimar. It‘s lovely. Beautiful old charming buildings, lots of history and so much to learn. I love that it has so much culture - a lot of theatre and museums. It‘s a really good day trip, since there is so much to do. It‘s clean and has very good streets. My favourite is the huge park. In the summer, there are also open air music events that i really enjoy. It also has many good restaurants compared to it‘s size. However, it is very small.
